Carson palmer was voted college football's most prestige award tonight. The Heisman trophy, which is given to college footballs most valuable player. Palmer is the USC trojans Quarterback. here are his statistics.

Age: 22
Height: 6-6
Weight: 230 lbs. #3 Senior
Hometown: Fresno, CA

Record 10-2
Completions 288
Attempts 458
yards 3639
completion % 62.9%
YPA 7.9
TD 32
Interceptions 10
sacks 21
QB rating 148.3

Palmer is most known for leading his team to victory against the surprising Notre dame defense. palmer threw for 425 yards in that game and 4 touchdowns. The #6 trojans beat #7 irish 44-13.

here's how palmer ranked among other D-1 quarterbacks

#7 in QB rating
#6 in passing yards
#9 in completion %
#2 in touchdowns

Other candidates for heisman were:

Ken Dorsey, Miami, QB
Willis MGhee, Miami, RB
Larry Johnson, Penn State, RB
Brad banks, Iowa, QB

Palmer is the first West coast winner of the heisman since marcus Allen won it for USC in 1981. he is the 5th heisman winner of the USC Trojans
------------------------------------------------------------

I personally wanted Larry johnson to win, but i thought brad banks of Iowa was most deserving.
Dorsey had an outstanding record as captain but He had amazing surrounding players. Mghee is too young and just isnt good enough to win heisman.

I also think that byron leftwich of marshall should've received more consideration for heisman

A lot of you probably don't watch football or really care about it but college football to me is an awesome sport and I just think it's great. So if anyone knows anything about football, I'd like to hear your heisman opinions.

I think it's a disgrace that LJ didn't win it. It's almost insulting to me, and it's yet another reason why college football and their bizarre rankings and votes, etc. are dumbing down the entire world of sports. And what the hell is up with merchandising every bowl game? The Tostito Bowl? pulleeze.

Yeah FWB, I just assumed he would win it. I'm not saying Palmer didn't deserve it, all the picks were decent, but Johnson was the pick and proved it the other night when he took home all those other votes of confidence. I guess it doesn't matter, he's going to make a boatload of money on a pro contract. And as you probably know yourself, the Heisman winners don't always do that well.

yeah, heisman trophy winners usually fail in the NFL. for example, last years heisman winner, Eric Crouch has already retired

Yes, yes, it's been the recent QBs who mainly stink. As FWB did said, Crouch..although I guess at some point he may improve..and Chris Weinke and Danny Wuerffel, the last goes on and on..
