Dread from the otherland series is such a strange man. Plus he's an aussie, even if he is a baddie.
Chade Fallstar in the assasin series by robin hobb has got to be one of the most intersting creations ever. Completely behind the scenes, pulling all the strings.
Homer from The Tomorrow series by John Marsden. He's a top bloke and he sticks up for his mates.
Draco from Harry Potter. Not much is said about him in the first couple of books but yet there is/was so much fanfiction about him, it really made me think about him. So many different theories.

| this is so sad. a 100 entries and 55% mentioning harry Potter and his entourage...
i love the books but by all means they are not such great characters. the story with EVERYONE in it is what makes it special.
oh and about Holden Caulfield, GOD i HATE HIM. i hate JD Salinger for that hellish novel. if i ever wanted to drive someone mad, i'd lock him up with the crazy frog theme and a copy of Catcher in the Rye!!!!

now my fav character is Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights. the emotions he has are amazing. the way he can despise every person on earth and still love cathy this much is beyond human powers... Emily Bronte is a Literay Hero. |
