Church trouble with moi...

| Who goes to the kind of church when the pastor or whoever yells out, "SOMEBODY SAY 'AMEN!'" ?
My mom's makin' me go to a different church. I used to go to a Catholic church but now this church is like a "Christian Gathering" The sermons are like 3 or 4 friggin' hours long! AND THAT'S JUST IN THE MORNING! Evening service is like 2 or 3 hours... While every1 is crying about the preacher's sermon, I'm not. I'm always the one NOT crying, or NOT singing. I've tried to ask my mom to stop taking me there cuz I wanna go to my old church. Atleast THERE it's an hour long. What should I do when my mom won't listen to me? |

| well im sure ur mom would understand.. but maybe she thinks this is better for u .. ive never been in this position but i would tell my mom exaclty why i dont like it .. u never know maybe she'll actually listen or understand...

| Lol, sounds like where on the same page. Though my church is not that long I am forced to go to it or I'm grounded. But you should try and reason with the parental nicely lol, sometimes that works.....but I've tried that, now I'm usually 'sick' on sundays.lol.

| Ha, I've tried talking to my mom. She always shuts me out afterwards. After I told her that I din't wanna go anymore and she just ignored me. I called out to her and we were like 3 feet apart and I KNOW she heard me but she kept walking by. I think that if you continue going to this church at the same time as your mum ignoring how you feel you will begin to resent religion...i dont know how religious you truly are (ie from your own decisions) i know myself that at your age i was pretty impressionable and i lost God for a while at that age cos i didnt want to go to the church i went to. Anyways i found him again and obviously, as a Christian it worries me that your relationship with God may deteriorate if your mum carries on forcing you to go to this church
However you have to consider that at 13 your mum is gona tell you what to do and you should respect that. You being unhappy is of course a factor but i think maybe you need to come to a compromise, maybe you just go to one of the church services, or do every other one at the two churches? or maybe you could go to your old church and ask for advice because they are always willing to help especially with young people who need guidance which i think you do.
You really need to sit down and talk to your mum if you can and try not to get angry or upset because you want to act mature about it if you want to resolve the situation. If she really wants you to keep your faith she will listen to you and hear what your saying about how you are beginning to resent this church and fear itll get worse. Otherwise i think try writing a letter

| I personally don't like missing mass either, I love my Catholic faith, but when it comes down to it, God is God is God is God...the protestants are still our brothers and sisters...and switching up worship styles every once in awhile is ok, it keeps us on our toes. | Hey, that's not quite true... religion can be a really good way to... I dunno... but it's a nice thing, it makes people be happy and kind to one another and have a point to life - when it's not overdone. It's when religions get twisted that it all go's wrong...
