Software Plugin?

| I'm not very good the the technical aspects of computers, so hopefully this will make sense to someone:
A friend came onto my computer and downloaded something called a software plugin from C2 Media Ltd. Now I have a toolbar on IE that I didn't want and keep getting popups that are somehow getting around my Google Toolbar. Whenever I open a new window, this is the address... http://contexualsearch.com/passthrough/index.html?http://www.letssingit.com/
It goes to Letssingit (my homepage) but then I get popups. It also added a bunch of shortcuts to my desktop and favorites.
Basically, is there any way to delete this unwanted software plugin? I'm even getting adult sites and things, so it's vital that I get rid of it. Thanks for any recommendations!

| yes, there is..... okay. there are a few things you can do to get rid of adware programs.... first off, go to downloads.com (it's a CNET site, it's safe, believe me) and search for a program called SpyBot, it does in depth searching and cleaning of any adware on your computer, odds are, it's going to find a lot of stuff on there.... also, get a program on there called "AdAware" that does the same thing, but on a different level.
