Trickles
Trickles down her arm
A special little secret
Known as self harm

Fiery red
Anger
Builds up deep inside
She's got to let these feelings out
But to who can she confide

Dark silver
Blade
Is the one that she trusts
The one that she turns to
When life becomes too much

Long white
Sleeves
To cover her pain
Hide her relief
Hide the cuts again

For everybody that is saying that this is terrible and all things are terrible about cutting and cutters, you need to chill out. I'm a cutter, and I'm only 14. Some things we can't help, like the obsession you get from cutting yourself to help with the pain and hurt you're going through. But anyway, these are reallyyyy good and I can relate, keep writing?(:

I am a recovering cutter and i was brought up in a reincarnation believing family. I was told that the reason i cut is due to a guilt or burden that i had in my past life. I know this isn true. However i do believe that fate is completely real and our whole life is determined for us. I didn not choose to be a cutter i just was. So all you peoe who think we are posers GET OVER YOURSELF

very good poem ! & I too am a recovering cutter. I have been clean for about a year and half : ) and I hope to stay clean. I know its hard to not give in to the temptation but just remember that you are not alone in this fight.

If you don't understand why someone would write poems about it, it's for the same reason anybody writes poetry about anything. To take what the artist is experiencing/feeling and put it into words. That's what poetry is, no? If you don't understand/like poems about this, I can help you. It's as simple as not reading them. If you want to make fun of people who feel like hurting themselves is all they can do- you need to re-think a few things. Everybody experiences things differently. So, even if you have self harmed, you don't need to come here and tell people like us that it's not right, because we already know that. You don't need to tell us that it's stupid and/or doesn't work. For some people, it's all we have. Thanks for reminding us. That's mainly for the earlier comments I read, but still.. some people I really wonder about. Really great poem, keep up the good work!

i have a friend an he is forbidden
because unlike all my other friends he hurts me
he has no heart
he has no soul
he is cold all the way through
he cuts me all over an brings pain to my body
he watches my crimson blood fall from my arm an to the floor
people do not like him an that is why he is forbidden
i call him my friend because he take the pain away an the feeling of doom that is in my heart an soul
but he is forbidden my razor blade friend
the only one who really understands me an the pain i am in
so i let him cut my arms all over an bring the feeling of happiness to me i love my forbidden friend

Reminds me of when I cut :/ Finally kicked the habit and now I get pissed at my friends for doing it. Good job. I would say keep up the good work but I feel like that would be encouraging you to keep hurting yourself P:
