You took me by surprise
I didn't expect to see such an incredible person tonight
I heard you laugh across the room
I looked at you, you smiled
And your eyes seemed to shine as you glanced my way
You drifed away, just like the wind
When I didn't see you again that night I wondered if I had dreamed of you
Because my dreams were filled with your warm laughter
And you were a dream come true
Even though I can't hold you I hold you in my heart
I wish I could melt into your eyes
And you could be my own
Though you are not near
You'll always linger in my dreams

I have to feel it to know I'm alive
That you just ripped my heart apart
For me, you say
But to me, it doesn't help anything
So I just let the pain stream down my face
And hope I can let go of your hand
When you get up do say goodbye forever
Forever gone from my life
I'm no good for you, you say
But to me you're all I need
I know I'm alive but I feel like dying
As you untwine my fingers from yours
And wipe away my tears
I see the emotion in your eyes
And it's taking everything in me
To not run after you
As you open the door you take on last look at me
And everything you're leaving behind
