| Why yes. Yes, I do. I can only hope you've learned how to read tab because otherwise there's no sense in doing this:
Itchy & Scratchy
E-------5---------------5---------0-----0-1-3---|
B-1---1-------1---1---1-------1-3--------------|
G---2-----------2---2---------------------------|
D------------------------------------------------|
A------------------------------------------------|
E------------------------------------------------|
E---------1-6-5-8------|
B---3-1-3--------------|
D-----------------------|
A-----------------------|
E-----------------------|
Granted you don't need any real talent to play it but I like to think it's a classic to start off with. Get your fingering together. Get a feel fo da fret...board. | 04-01-2004 15:04 rampton | 47 posts
| when i first started (i am still bad) i learned blowing in the wind by bob dylan (3 chords) also nights in white satin by the moody blues and three little birds by bob marley (both 5 chords).
i found that it depended what you like so your chord changes are intuitive.
simplest chords were A, E, C, G, and D...i avoided B and F until absolutely necessary and the i just played the nearest B to the chord I was playing and the fact that i didn't hold the F properly didn't matter that much as my ear wasn't tuned to really know the difference.
you'll get plenty of tabs online, so try find the songs you recognise and like.
i now play acoustic dylan, stones, beatles, etc but beware of stuff like zeppelin for now as the chords may be limited quite often but are played 'gothic'.
hope that helps, good luck. | 04-01-2004 18:58 fishmunky | 21,929 posts
| green day - time of your life (the strumming is easy, first mainstream song i learned on guitar)
seether - broken (again the strumming rythym is kinda funky but its only 4 chords through out the whole song)
a majority of beatles songs are very simple acoustic arrangements (let it be, hey jude, yellow submarine) | 04-01-2004 19:03 The_Kinks | 582 posts
