| So I've heard about this before... There's this sound that only people up to 25 years old can hear, and people who are older than that can't. Or at least it's supposed to be like that.
I know we've got people here of all ages, so I thought maybe we could have a little experiment.
Go here and see if you can hear the sound, and then report back. I want to know if it's a hoax or not.
By the way, I can hear it. It's annoying. |

| I have that annoying sound on my phone. Nothing special. If I was a moderator, I would lock this silly & pointless idiotic topic.
-you've been asked multiple times before not to use the word 'gay' so much when discussing things you don't like. please be considerate to others and choose a different adjective. /edit | 05-11-2009 19:24 crazy_freewaver |

| Aw. It's not a hoax. I first heard about it when it was on the News quite a while back. I think the story was about how some councils/places were going to play the sound at night to stop young troublemakers.
I also had the sound on my phone for a while (until the phone broke and I got a new one) because someone at college sent it to me a few years ago so that I could come home and test my parents. Neither of them could/can hear it. | 06-11-2009 00:41 indiechick_ |

i knew of people using it in school as a text ringer so teachers couldnt hear them getting a text. as it turns out, some of our teachers were kinda young and could hear it. | 06-11-2009 16:29 carole |

| i can hear it, im way over 25, its very annoying (gives me instant headache).. so yea the "only people up to 25 years old can hear this sound" announcement is just bs.
(and yea, my students have used that ringtone before, they felt dumb when i told them to turn their cellphones off) | 06-11-2009 16:36 indiechick_ |
