6,464 posts	I have tried it. Don't think it's a bad thing if people are responsible about its consume. I actually liked it, the effect of it. It was relaxing, but never made a habit out of it.

22,057 posts	probably, but it still won't change my feeling, i've tried it, numerous times in numerous situations and the same thing happens i just want to go to sleep, super lame when im at a party or a concert, great when i have insomnia i'll never truly understand the big deal, i'll never understand why its illegal as its probably the least harmful "narcotic" in history, but i also dont get the endless good press it gets from a lot of people, i guess you just have to get it maybe

3,871 posts	i have a roommate who feels that same way and i get it.. for me, it's just an enhancer... Whether watching tv or listening to music or doing pretty much anything, it's more relaxing and fun to smoke and then do the activity. High sex is awesome too, and i generally feel more creative when i smoke and write more often. Plus stupid shit on tv just seems funnier and i sleep much easier

22,057 posts	Look for every scumbag i know who smokes pot, i know just as many professionals, either in sales, marketing, accounting, legal or medicine Smoking weed doesn't mean you have no future, crappy decisions leave you with no future, some of the smartest and most talented people i know are habitual marijuana users, it doesn't seem to have put them out on the streets

6,464 posts	I came across doctors, professors, nurses, psychologists and other people with a degree smoking weed and more, on cocaine. I have to confess it was shocking at first, but once you start dealing with that world, you realise that many people do it and still live their lives normally and most of these people I mentioned, are really successfull in their areas. Weed doesn't make you an idiot. I guess it alienates you a bit and if you smoke it non-stop, won't do you no good. But that is just like everything in life.

222 posts	I hate that some people assume that all pot-smokers are low-lifes. I smoke marijuana almost everyday. I will admit, it can deaden your short-term memory, and slow down your motor-skills, but it is something I enjoy. Some other people like a cup of coffee in the morning, I start my day wif' a spliff'

It's not that i have anything against people who need a joint to get their day going, but i think the terminal stupidity of a lot of pot slang gives everyone the impression that every user is a brain dead mouth breather. It's not meant as an affront to you, because outside of that sign off sentence you came across as well spoken and articulate, but the ghetto weed slogans and slang i think helps foster an image of semi-retardation when it comes to people who smoke up

22,057 posts	I've pointed out that i don't smoke, a lot of my friends and certain members of my families do, to mellow themselves out or to help unwind or whatever, i don't begrudge most pot users, because like i've pointed out a lot of them are professionals, or studying to be professionals, and these people are funny, gifted articulate people who just need a way to unwind (i do begrudge the morons who think pot is the be all and end all of human existence and i begrudge the small segment of the population that just wont shut the f--- up about how high they are and how great it is that they're high, cute at first more annoying than herpes after 5 minutes) In Ontario and Canada at large i hope that it's eventually, at the very least decriminalized (Ontario flirted with this idea earlier, giving people caught with pot a fine, similar to a parking ticket, instead of a criminal record if the amount was small enough) there are a lot of problems i see with the blanket legalization of marijuana, the biggest one being government control, regulation and taxation of the product, and the backlash i think we'll see from it. Oh well i guess time will tell what will happen eventually

3,871 posts	i can see how the slang would make some people seem dumb or whatever, i would make assumptions and shit before i smoked but hung around some potheads who used weed slang... when you smoke a lot i think the slang becomes second nature... if im talkin to someone about weed, i can gage pretty well how much they smoke by the terms they use. nobody says "hey man i wanna buy some weed." If someome's talkin like that, they're probably gonna get ripped off. Especially if you start dealing, as a precaution its better just to call it somethin else in textx and stuff.. i always call a bag of weed a buddha sack
