| i have already made a thread about this but rather than bump it up again with the title it had that might not get much attention i made a new thread that i hope WILL get attention from anyone who can actually do anything about my idea since i think it's really a good idea, so now i'm going to copy what i said in the other thread, here we go...
okay, there are multiples of some songs (for some reason tonight it seems like britney spears has a whole heckload) like the same song has been added more than once, sometimes even as many times as 5 with slightly different names, though sometimes not even different names
ex: Britney Spears - Everytime By Britney Spears From Album In The Zone
Britney Spears - Everytime (Cd Version)
Britney Spears - Everytime
Britney Spears - Britney Spears - Everytime
okay, that really super annoys me, and anyone who knows me knows how much i hate brit. spears but do you know how many spots she's taking up in the top100 just because almost every single one of them have been repeated?
also i would like to bring up when a song has been put under the wrong band, like tonight somehow i found eminem's "lose yourself" under 'Cake' (and sorry but i dont think Cake did a version of that correct me if i'm wrong and i will be very surprised) not only that but it's there twice, twice! and i've seen that quite a bit actually
i know the songs are reviewed by the members of letssingit and okayed by the members and i understand that sometimes people just dont look to see if a song is already in the archive and i also understand that there probably is someone who goes through the archive deleting multiples and such but i've come up with an idea
you have the add lyrics button, why can't we have a remove lyrics button? they of course won't be removed right away but put up to be queed (sp?) by someone and checked and looked over to see if they do deserve to be removed, am i wrong or is haveing multiple copies of songs not taking up more space than it needs (look how much we're giving up to britney  its a crime and shame, i mean the last time i checked britney was taking up exactly 1/4 of the letssingit top 100 songs)

| it'd be nice to see just one set of correct lyrics and not 5 differents ones ;p
although there are some bands whose lyrics aren't the same when they perform live, like Blink182.

| Okay, Rass suggested I post my idea that's similar to hers in this thread.
Hey Ray, I have a small request. Some songs by Blink, such as "Carousel" have appeared on a number of cd's, including the live album. This song is on three I think. No matter which album you choose the song under, your directed to the same place. Would it be possible to change the song id numbers? I was thinking of going into to live album and changing the songs to how they sing them live (they change the lyrics a little) but then realized it would change all lyrics under allalbums.
This isn't a big problem, but if you could look into changing the song id's, that'd be great. Thanks,

| I'm aware of these bugs/problems. Organizing the archive is more complex then you can imagine, because interaction with visitors is involved (add & correct). This site can't live anymore without this interaction, but this also mean that it brings in some problems. Problems like songs that occure more than once in the archive. It's up to me to think how to fix this. Input from you guys is always appreciated and helped me developing the functions which are currenty on the site.
Right now I'm finetuning the add-song functionality. I think that has the higest priority. If this works 100% then there is more 'trash' submitted and can we continue finetuning the functionality that removes the existing trash.
