I think the death penalty is a little harsh and should be stopped, but if you know the law and do the wrong thing, you have to be prepared to take the punishment!! Every country is different though and every law will occur differently from person to person!! later!!!

I dunno...a lot of me is against it, but at the same time, I really begin to feel more and more some people just don't deserve to live. But maybe it'd be better for them to rot in prison instead of getting the easy way out.

i'd say let them rot in prison... but with the high standards of prison life these days (medical, dental and food) , they are hardly going to rot are they. well i say let people who terrorise and comit acts of murder be martyr's to their cause and kill them the world will be a better place. we do not beome killers for the law absorbs the impact, and we can wash our hands of it. the bali bombers should have been marched out the back of the court houe and executed in an alley. and there they should be left as carion for the animals and maggots. they deserved worse. as a law abiding citizen i feel robbed that such lives can be taken for they received no quarter.

Prison is about denying their freedom, not their dignity.
Want to make them suffer more...your choice.
Totalitarian regime or not?

Anyway, all the pro-'lock'em up and throw away the key' people might want to read this:

Something I've always found pretty funny about people who are pro death penalty is their will to be God.

"They deserve to die, and the rest of us are so pure and wonderful and downright holy, so we can kill them, and no, that's not hypocritical."

This is not preschool, people; this is people's lives we're talking about. Please take your need to control somewhere where it won't make as much damage.

I have my own views on this and yes!...i believe I have good reason for it.

People may say that being Pro Death Penalty makes me no better than all the murderers out there. Maybe! But that's the judges decision to put them on Death Row, not mine, just like it's the judges decision to give 6 years to a paedophile who repeatedly raped a 12 week old baby. Just like it's the Judges decision to give 25 years to a man who happened to be involved in fraudulent activity. Just like it's the Judges decision to give 4 years to a man who killed 3 people whilst drink driving with no license......30 years for bank robbery........7 years for bludgeoning an old lady to death....need I go on!!! It's a F*cked up system. "Life" isn't life anymore. You get 25 years for murder; you're out in 8. Yeah! That’s how precious life is.

i'm pro death penalty, but under no circumstance does that make me "holy". as a flat-out atheist, the death penalty has absolutely no connection to religion for me.

we had a debate here in school once about this. we saw a news report about a guy who was given the death penalty, even though he ended up being innocent. many people said that since the system failed, we should get rid of the system. that's ridiculous, since innocent people are put in jail, and you obviously can't just get rid of the jails here.

as for the death penalty...think about it, you kill someone, why shouldn't you yourself be killed? some say it's a harsher punishment to have to sit in a jail for the rest of your life, but why waste the tax dollars? i say, let's go back to the whole "an eye for an eye" system. for murder in particular, the death penalty really is the only sensible option. but that's just my opinion. i think that the death penalty is really just a surface issue to a much deeper problem, which is the court system in general. i believe that especially in the u.s., the court system is a complete joke. getting out of jail early for "good behavior"? what the hell is with that? of course you're going to be on your best behavior in jail if you knew it'd get you out sooner. that's just one of the many flaws in this crazy system.

i never agree with death penalty. life imprisonment is a better solution. i think its a let off to just hang a person who raped and murder. its bs. they need to stop the death penalty. the people deserves a second chance to live and feel remorse about what theyd done, at the same time punish them be for the rest of their life, make their life a living hell.

salutzzz~~~

Death penalty is stupid. Sitting in jail for the rest of your life is far worse than dying, but thats just my opinion.

I am personally against the death penalty.

Your teaching people that if they kill, they will get killed. That makes a lot of sense.

How would you feel if the person you love the most in this world were put to death because of a crime they didn't commit? How would you feel about the death penalty then? Because that happens more than you may think.

Thats obviously not the case because we don't have less criminals. If someone is going to go through with a serious crime, chances are threatening them with the death penalty won't stop them. Most of the time, people commit these crimes because they believe they wont get caught, so that isn't really on their minds.

what about the shooting of Juan Carlos Mendez? It was said by everyone: "He was running away for no reason. He could have been a terrorist. The police were just doing their job." The same goes for the death penatly. It should be reintroduced to England, in my opinion.

I think the death penalty is crap, not because its inhumane, just because its a total cop out, they die, that means no more lows, no boredom, no suffering, peace for them. Its not punishment.

i dont mean to sound cruel or heartless but i am in favour of the death penalty. i dont mean like for petty ones or anything, i mean like for people who have committed truly sick, disgusting and unforgivable crimes.

like that B****** who shot dead a class of 5 year olds including their teacher. If he hadnt of killed himself afterwards, he should have receieved the death penalty.

the man who murdered holly and jessica should receive the death penalty

i think people like these should receive the death penalty. they are sick.. and theyre living in jail, where they can play pool and watch telly. i think that is so wrong. they need to be punished, not allowed to watch tv and play games.
