There has to be a better way?
The sad news is, we don't know what that is, and we never will. I do not believe the death penalty is used appropriatly, i believe it specifically targets minorities, black men in particular (i am not black) and i believe it is not a deterrent but a retribution. To say the capital punishment is a deterrent is ignorant at best, 89% of victims in death sentence cases are white, meaning that if you kill a black man you'll get 20 years but if you kill a white man you'll get the chamber. Crime rates have actually been shown to increase in states that resumed the death penalty, whereas crime rates are down in Nation-states that do no have it. Obviously public opinion is against it, so why does it still exist.
The death sentence has been around since the begining of time. Society has a standard and it states what one can and cannot do. Historically, if you break a capital law, you get a capital punishment, placing an emphasis on life. I think the death penalty should be stopped until we can figure out how to use it properly, otherwise we should not use it at all. I am prolife 100%, if you think the death penalty is wrong but support abortion...you are no less ignorant than those who condemn abortion but support the death penalty.

i do have to admit, i absolutley deispise the attitude of most amnesty organizations. They imply that a large number of convicted muderers are innocent, and a target of blatent judicial racism. I do not feel this way, i believe that while a black man who kills a white man will probably face a stiffer judgment, i do not feel that many innocent black men are being sentenced to death simply because of thier color. the overwhelimng percentage od death row convicts 99.7 % belong to be far away from the rest of humanity.

I thnk people will get their own anyways, they will die slowly by their conscious, and of course there is always the FINAL judge you have to face. Death penalties just show our hypocracy...."thou shall not kill" even if your not christain, everyone knows killing is bad, and We have no more right to to it, even if it is a murderer, its not our place to take their lives. Jaling them to keep society safe is O.K. but the man who pulls the lever to execute, is just as guily as the man being executed! In our human nature we feel "justified" for doing it, well im sure Osama felt the same way. Were no different. Let the final judge take care of things!

the death penality is good. I disagree with those people that say that people like me are evil. Well I say the real evil people are the people that rape touture and murder children. How dare you support this sick people, they desearve to die, plus it saves tax payers money on prisions and it reduces crime. take china for example, they have 6 times the amount of population then america and only 1/10 the crime.

You can't come and say people deserve to die. How can you judge somebody to death? That's just hypocracy, killing people because they killed. Besides I would rather die than spend the rest of my life in prison. And what if you kill someone who's innocent? It's better that 100 people get away with what they did than 1 person being wrongly judged. I wouldn't want to judge someone to death even if that person has done terrible things. And don't come and say i would think differently if something had happened to my family or something like that. Because it has and the law should not act like our feelings want it to act.

Anything to do with hurting kids should get the death penalty. If anything happened to my kids then I wouldn't be able to go on.

because not too many judges want to screw some rectum as a punishment. Rapists should have life in prison or death. It is called punishment.

Let's say a man murders your sibling/spouse/friend. Do you really want him playing basketball, weight lifting, and not worrying about bills the rest of his life? I'd prefer him dead.

How'd your friend die? Was it an accident? I assume it was if they only got 8 years.
