What are the biggest differences between the Existentialist view of truth, and the Christian view of Truth?
Existentialism-noun (Merriam Webster Dictionary.)
a chiefly 20th century philosophical movement embracing diverse doctrines but centering on analysis of individual existence in an unfathomable universe and the plight of the individual who must assume ultimate responsibility for his acts of free will without any certain knowledge of what is right or wrong or good or bad
First, the existentialism embraces diverse doctrines; whereas Christianity has one Doctrine, the Doctrine of Jesus Christ our Lord.
Second, existentialism centers on the analysis of individual existence. However Christianity teaches that God created man with a purpose, and all were made in His image.
And lastly, existentialism teaches that we do not have any certain knowledge of right and wrong, good and evil. Once again Christianity teaches something quite different. We know what is right and what is wrong through the law of God. (Most notably through Ten Commandments found in Exodus 20) We also know what is good and evil, for Jesus says to the Pharisees in the Book John "Why do you call me good teacher, for only God is Good"
