No - it can pump you up, but actually becoming violent? That's within your own control.

if you're already batshit insane, then yes. there are a couple instances where its happened.. i remember this one case where this kid shot his parents after he saw a movie. i forget what. i don't think mainsteam media should be safeguarded in any way for people like this though. think when people answer these things they only consider themselves. you can't deny that music can have some influence on people's actions. it's not responsible for them though, obviously.

mm, no not really
music itself cannot make a person violent.
its up to the person, although the music may influence violent behavers, it cant make then violent.

Not really.

But do realize that music may have a great impact on people and their daily life.

Yes. There are a lot of songs that can make me feel very depressed when listened to a lot (Sia - "Breathe Me", Josh Radin -" -November"(?)) So I believe it's possible. I don't know which songs one could find that would be so violent they'd make you more than just 'angry/aggressive'.

no...I mean it can DRIVE them to be violent....but that's only if they're like on that path...and the song's actually pretty violent...someone's not gonna listen to some song and be like "oh...i think i'll be violent now"

hmm well this is interesting because music obviously affects the emotions and well any song i think can cause someone to turn to violent behavior depending on what situation a person is in....I dont think that someone who is pefectly happy and never had a violent thought would be driven to violence by music...but i think music can push someone who is on the edge to do violent things

If you envelope yourself in it constantly yes, and believe what the violent lyrics say, yes. I hate to be clique but you are what you do.

If you don't have a brain then yeah, sure. No music or any other thing can make you more violent. I listen to metal and hardcore and other kinds of music that would probably be classified as violent. When I get pissed off, its not because of an ill breakdown. It's because you pissed me off.

let's try an argument for yes...music...triggers emotions and hormones? causing ppl to get too excited or dead hatred towards someone/something? causing them to do something violent?

or if someone listens to music with a negative influence/message such as kidnapping and killing a "lover" to keep eternal love and actually does that

(Sha Shou by JJ Lin, it's Mandarin...he also cut up her body parts and used it as art work when he put it up on his wall...argh...there is a 20 min uncensored version, and a 5 min censored version on youtube)

Why would music make someone more violent? If the person is already violent, then maybe yes. But those who aren't violent...well, I don't think that they would get violent. So my answer is no

Music can easily have a large impact on a person's emotional state. If that person is already angry, then listening to some music with themes of anger could make the person more emotional and, as such, more violent as well.
