| It's May again, so that means that some countries will send their best, some countries won't bother at all and just pick any performer and some countries will look for the worst they have and pay them for participating.
Aaaaaanyhooooow, what would the world be without ESC!
GO Belgrade!
So, let's have the discussion here .. as always with a bit of a sense of humour

| no wait, you're right. there's a beta version for macs! | 0 @ 05-05-2008 14:52 Dagor | 33,442 posts
| don't get all excited though .. the contest is more or less a parody of itself, except that it's not intended to be one .. that doesn't stop millions of people from watching it | 0 @ 05-05-2008 14:52 indiechick_ | 8,778 posts
| oi, the portuguese girl is scary. haha! | 0 @ 05-05-2008 15:02 Juliet86 | 8,127 posts
| I'm debating wether I should listen to the entries in advance or not. I usually don't listen until the contest, but then I only get to hear them once (except for the ones in the semi or whatever, and that's not fair cause then I hear them more). If I listen to one I have to listen to them all, with the same open mind. It has to be fair! And I officially care too much. Especially with it being a parody of itself like Daniel said | 0 @ 05-05-2008 15:05 indiechick_ | 8,778 posts
| yeah, i got the spirit of the whole competition. i'm listening them all. | 0 @ 05-05-2008 15:09 Dagor | 33,442 posts
| that is the weird thing ... I wouldn't want to miss it for the world!

| I know, that was fun last year. A little difficult running back and forth though, with the tv and computer being in opposite ends of the house. I need my own computer to work! | 0 @ 05-05-2008 15:26 Dagor | 33,442 posts

| *Pets Bruna* Lately? The Eurovision competition has been going on for decades.
I don't watch the entries beforehand, it spoils the fun for me. Only seen a few, the rest I'll wait for. | 0 @ 05-05-2008 15:53 indiechick_ | 8,778 posts
| how come some countries are already finalists? | 0 @ 05-05-2008 15:58 Dagor | 33,442 posts
| The real reason is because they 'support' the contest.
The official one is that they are countries with a tradition .. don't quote me on that though. I am sure there should be an explanation somewhere | 0 @ 05-05-2008 16:01 indiechick_ | 8,778 posts
| well it's marked on my calendar. i shall watch! | 0 @ 05-05-2008 20:55 Juliet86 | 8,127 posts

There are a few that are always finalists (because they support the contest I guess) and then the best ones from last year get to go straight to the final, like the top 10 or so.
Sweden has to go through the semi (or whatever it might be called) because Europe didn't realise the awesomeness of The Ark last year, boo
