| There are some people who love/hate songs without caring who the artist is (like me), and some who would love/hate any song by particular artists without caring about the song (these people piss me off). Since it is my experience that every artist has at least one song that I hate, I'm curious to know: How many songs do you have to like to make you say "I like them?" I mean I like 2 songs by Justin Timberlake , and love his live performances of 2 others. His other songs don't really appeal to me much. So does that mean I'm a Justin Timberlake fan? What if Paris Hilton released 1 great song (hasn't happened yet)? |

| I'm also like you: I appreciate songs without taking into consideration who the artists are. And I can dislike a song from an artist that I'm a fan of.
I guess I need to like at least 3 songs from an artist to become their fan. | 0 @ 07-05-2008 21:07 indiechick_ | 8,753 posts
| i usually judge an artist by the album, not individual songs. i don't have to love all the songs in the album, but they have to be fairly good as a whole. | 0 @ 26-05-2008 14:02 Mrazmerized | 30 posts
| I'd say one song. You don't have to like the whole albums to be a fan.
And that one song can be special and you love everything about it. I think it depends on you.. I like a few James Blunt songs but I don't call myself a fan because I don't like him as an artist just those songs. | 0 @ 26-05-2008 22:51 ice_white_tiger | 14,478 posts
| I think for me to be a fan I have to like the actual person aswell as a few of the songs. I mean, someone like Rihanna, if she came out with a few really awesome songs that I truly liked, I still wouldnt call myself a fan because i dont like her. | 0 @ 27-05-2008 01:29 SeHanna | 66 posts
| For me me to be a fan I would have to like the majority of all their songs as a whole. I am a fan of Garbage because of that and of Soundgarden. I was a fan of Audioslave until there were more song that I didn't like compared to the ones I did.
Kinda like a 2/3 thing, I guess. | 0 @ 28-05-2008 07:02 carole | 26,907 posts
| the term "fan" is short for "fanatic" right? so being some artist's fan would mean being obsessed with them.. which can hardly be the case when u just like one or two songs by them.
having said that, i think pple need to stop being ashamed of what they enjoy listening to. so what if u go "im a justin timberlake fan" cuz u like one of his songs? its not like pple are gonna think u're stupid for liking justin timberlake's music. and if they do then they're morons.
i usually say i like pretty much everything when it comes to music, cuz i have songs that go from 50cent to Thom Yorke to Britney Spears in my everyday playlist. but i dont say im a 50cent fan cuz i dont wear tee-shirts with his name on it or exclusively listen to american gangsta rap. |
