| but seriously, i shall not rest until danzing is ukraine's national anthem. and they'll have to do the choreography too, every single time the anthem is sang! muahahah that shall be my revenge.
i guess that'll make you very patriotic afterall, to have the national anthem always stuck in your head. | 0 @ 09-05-2008 13:31 andro | 42,248 posts

| it's final - i don't have what it takes to cook eggs. they're always either raw or overcooked. i give up. | 0 @ 09-05-2008 14:46 Barakine | 21,866 posts
| Don't worry. I've never even boiled eggs, but I'm sure I'd fail too. *pets* | 0 @ 09-05-2008 14:49 carole | 26,907 posts
| theres a cooking rule called the "3-6-9 rule" for the cooking of eggs.
3 min in boiling water : egg "ā la coque" (means the white is cooked, and the yolk is warm but still liquid)
6 min : soft boiled egg (white is cooked, yolk is half cooked, makin it soft and spreadable)
9 min : hard boiled eggs
as for omelett and fried eggs or w/e it is u call it, i guess the rule is to watch the cooking carefully.. | 0 @ 09-05-2008 14:52 indiechick_ | 8,753 posts

although i've just wasted two eggs trying to make eggs'n'soldiers and they were a bit raw. i don't like it when it's liquid inside but it can't be too hard or else you can't dip the strips of bread in. maybe i should buy an egg timer. | 0 @ 09-05-2008 14:56 Barakine | 21,866 posts
| You can tell Carole's a teacher, she even has rules for boiling eggs, hehe.
Hmm. Carole, do you like your job? | 0 @ 09-05-2008 15:04 indiechick_ | 8,753 posts
| haha everyone open your textbooks on page 138, we're going to learn la rčgle de trois six neuf. (is that right?) | 0 @ 09-05-2008 15:05 carole | 26,907 posts
| aaha theres an english name for eggs ā la coque !! "eggs n soldiers" !
about a month ago i posted a pic of my breakfast that day on my xanga, and someone asked me what it was, and how u eat those and such, and i then realized that it must be a french thing. im glad to see that there is an english counterpart.
the 3 minutes are important, put the eggs in the cold water first (so the shell doesnt crack in the boiling water), and the second it starts boiling, set the timer to 3 minutes. if u leave them more than 3 minutes they're overcooked.
yes Lina i love my job, i couldnt do anything else. and yes, i dont miss opportunities to learn new things, and to teach new things to pple
