no kids here. and i doubt it'll happen soon, unless my girlfriend defies all laws of biology and somehow knock me up. wouldn't bet on that, though.

no, but if things work out right that should change to a yes in the next 2-3 years.. that's quite a while still. hard to get pregnant when your husbands in/going to be in iraq.

Well I'm just 17, so not yet, even less because I am not in a relationship... But I hope I will have about 3-4 (sooner or preferably later) after I will have got married (with who, that still remains to be seen)... So, future seems vague...

I agree with Pie Guy. I don't understand why so many people like the idea of having children...

Until the end of your career? 65 is a bit old for kids, don't you think?

Oh, yes, I have a pig lovechild...thing...called Frederick with my girlfriend. I love him a lot. Hopefully we'll be having another 172 children in the future. A number around that anyway.

Nope, am 17 – and having kids is pretty much the furthest thing from my mind now!

We're pretty much programmed that way, I think. When I was a little kid I'd always be playing 'marriage' or 'looking after your babies' or some nonsense (like a lot of little girls). And when you think about it - they were pretty much the embodiment of all those discourses and stereotypes out there. So you grow up thinking 'When I'm an adult I'm going to get married and make babies.'

Having said that. It's not always a bad thing. It's what some people are meant to do - ie. those astonishingly caring people that you just know are destined to be great parents. Anyway this all kind of relates back to my personal beliefs - so I won't start off that jag again

I agree with you, Mebee. We're kinda programmed to behave like this.. But since I was a child I never liked this idea.. There was a time, when I was very young, when I thought that everybody HAD to have children. But then one day I found out that I didn't have to, if I didn't want. So I got relieved this day.. I really don't want them.

No I don't, I feel too young and dependent for that.

I don't think not wanting kids is a bad thing. It's a very personal choice.
I didn't think I did until I realised that nothing is set in stone. I may have a maternal instinct that kicks in in my late 20s, who knows.

I don't want children. But I REALLY want to get married and live with my husband, instead of with mommy forever...
