| Who's going to see The Golden Compass with Nicole Kidman (Moulin Rouge) and Daniel Craig (Casino Royale) when it comes out in the cinema ? I'm reading the book, Northern Lights, right now and then I'm going to see the movie. |

| im definitely not going to c it because i heard that it gives a bad message relating to religion. regardless of the book, a movie about it gives a powerful visual aid and if it is a bad message, this movie cannot be a good influence | 0 @ 03-12-2007 20:49 Petroviic | 1,894 posts
| Actually it does'nt. I'm reading the book right now and it has nothing to do with religion. I'm on page 300 and it's 400 pages in the book, so maybe it will come later in the book. | 0 @ 03-12-2007 22:39 Dredg935 | 792 posts
| I might see it, but what is it about? | 0 @ 04-12-2007 06:32 zjenn4 | 9,158 posts
| Personally I am not going to see the movie because the overall theme is against what I believe. The author of the books in the series makes it a point in his last book to "kill God", and it was deliberate. So I won't go see it. And the genre isn't really my type of movie, so I probably wouldn't go see it reguardless.
* offtopic : With that said, to avoid causing another religious thread disaster, this is my opinion of the movie. That doesn't mean other people shouldn't make the decision for themselves, of whether or not to go see it. This is my reason and I am not forcing it on anyone.
