As I sit inside my bedroom I think of the old days before I forgot all I learned and I lost my way.

And we cry about childhood because we wish it would have last, the transition from kid to adult was like a shattering glass.

And there’s a glass in the kitchen with a crack on the side that grows bigger each year when God’s son was crucified.

And the cross that still symbolizes what he gave for them is now nothing but a hollow boring every day item.

And the item hangs in places to show the path to take but it’s surrounded by laughing demons who claim it’s a mistake.

And the laughter in the distance grows fainter with each day that it grows colder without a jacket when a child’s lost it’s way.

And red tears run down their cheeks as they play hopscotch and tag in the early autumn wind that rustles every flag.

And the flags are all half-mast as a man dies for his country from a wound to the head from a man he helped set free.

And the graveyard is all silent ‘cause no one knew this man who lowered every flag that is the symbol to this land.

And the lands been torn apart and replaces with concrete things that were built in ancient times and now belong to kings.

And the Lords up on their thrones ignore the cry of doubt that was present in the beginning when they first came about.

And the cry of doves grows louder as each one is crucified to feed the belly of Incompetence instead of let it die.

And the beast it grows stronger with each passing day that it’s poison is released in the early buds of May.

And these flowers are always picked by giggling little girls who haven’t done their lessons and know nothing of the world.

And the world is full of sinning because that’s the modern way of the society we all live in that refuses to decay.

And the decay in trust is growing because everyone tells their lies to protect the individual self from all the other lies.

But a lie is a lie no matter where it’s from and the window in my kitchen catches the light of the setting sun.

And the light sets on a glass that sits beside my sink with a crack down the side that makes it hard to drink.

And the drink has a bitter taste and the name of it is Truth but it slips out the crack and the liquid has no use.

And the liquid pitter-patters in the form of falling rain that drips upon the head of those waiting for a train.

And the train is bound for nowhere but the darkness of the night where children lay in the black and cry out in fright.

And the angels that lay crying in the darkness everyone made grow stiller with each moment that they slowly fade away.

And I sit inside my bedroom and wonder about the day when we suddenly realize what we’ve all done.

I agree... "Life's Bedroom" sounds like a great title for it... It's a great poem, so it needs a great title to do it's justice!

aw thanks alicia no one's really commented like that before makes me feel good that i touched someone like that with this poem, and i have given it a name for the time being, just because i hate having a file labled "needs name" lol so right now it's saved on my disk as "my cracked glass" but i dont know if it'll stay that way, what do you think about that name

I like "My Cracked Glass", and, well I don't know how to describe it so I won't try I'll probably end up saying something stupid ... and you're welcome, but I just loved this poem so much!

That was, in a word...amazing. I read the first stanza and I had to keep reading. You have talent. I can't write anything that long, I run out. I don't know what you should call it. I personally never name poems, I think it confines them. Do you know what I mean? But that was a good suggestion for the title. Anyway, the poem made me think, and that's always a good thing. It was awesome.
