| O rly?
The internet reports: multiple gay female gangs raping younger girls in school bathrooms using ‘objects’. My girlfriends’ daughter got into a fight with gay girls in her school, because they tried to force her to have sex with them.
The parallels with witch hunting testimonies in the middle ages are quite striking. It might have been that in the middle ages women got burnt alive because of 'testimonies' like that, but thankfully the world has changed a bit. It is very sad though that 600 years later people like that still think that they can get away with rhetoric like that. All I can do is shake my head | 27-03-2009 15:49 glow_child_glow | 1,553 posts
| Uh yeah, except that it is a huge problem that lesbians are getting hurt, and raped by each other alll the time. Go look up She Stole My Voice. | 27-03-2009 15:56 Dagor |

| I am 46 and not a kid .. and seriously this kind of argumentation is below my level.
It's the kind of generalisation that I loathe .. by the same reasoning you for instance can assume that domestic rape within a marriage is happening all the time ..
By that same reasoning you could use these arguments to point out that marriage is a danger for society | 27-03-2009 20:33 WH1 | 437 posts

| "and raped by each other alll the time"
Oh my God! My ex rapes me every time I see her and then I find another lesbian around in the university toilets and I rape her, and on and on the vicious cycle goes.
Please note that the above sentence is dripping with sarcasm. Normally I wouldn't joke about something like this, but that's seriously how insane and ignorant that sounds. | 28-03-2009 21:36 Secret_Sphere |

| I don't think the notion of women raping women should be dismissed - it can, and does happen, and it is completely serious. However, that doesn't mean that all lesbians are rapists, and it certainly doesn't happen at the levels of men raping women, far from it, and it doesn't serve as a justifiable argument aganst giving gays/lesbians equal rights. If anything, it calls for our attention against sexual violence as a whole. | 02-04-2009 19:51 glow_child_glow | 1,553 posts

| Seriously, what are you even doing????
Oh, some guy made a general statement, so i'm going to not give a flying f**k about a lot of women getting hurt. Typical.
"Women get raped by men" Woudl you tell that generalisation to piss off?/ pfft. | 02-04-2009 20:57 JDolla |

| Same-sex marriages, now allowed in Sweden *is proud*
We had civil unions before though, so it's not as big of a step as it would be in the places that don't allow even those. | 04-04-2009 07:02 glow_child_glow | 1,553 posts
| JDolla, maybe YOU would but bringing something to light that is NEVER discussed is not f**ing "cheapening" rape, are you thick???????
Are you going to say that commenting on hte atrocities in Iraq trivializes murder on hte streets?? Get your head out your backside. | 04-04-2009 13:41 JDolla |

| When you say things like:
"it is a huge problem that lesbians are getting hurt, and raped by each other all the time,"
you could just as easily say:
"it is a huge problem that people are getting hurt, and raped by each other all the time."
You single out one particular group that perpetrates a crime. And being a minority group, lesbian rape is far less common than heterosexual rape. Not only do your comments make you seem like a homophobe, but it makes you seem like you don't care about the rape. You just want a chance to bash lesbians.
What I'm getting at is this. If you want to talk about rape, by all means demonize it. If you want to make lesbians look bad, I guess that's your decision. But don't come in here and try to mix the two together unless you have some solid proof that it is a bigger issue than rape in general.
And the real question is, how does this directly relate to same-sex marriage?

| Look, i point out this one group because it is a f**ing crime that it is never brought up. The argument goes directly the other way, in that when you discuss rape you don't factor in women raping women.
Your second paragraph is probably one of the most ridiculously idiot things i've ever heard. You have a very slack understanding of the English language. And, more expectedly.. me. | 13-04-2009 12:04 glow_child_glow | 1,553 posts

| I also agree with Jeremy... for the same reasons Daniel's said.
To me, it seems more as though you're not listening to what everyone else is saying. I don't dispute that women raping women does happen, but rape happens everywhere, and more-so with heterosexuals. But after reading the last few pages, I don't get how what you're saying is related to "same sex marriages"... If women rape other women, then they will rarely marry them, will they? Same as how a heterosexual person would rarely marry someone who has raped/hurt them.
BTW - Saw your "She stole my voice" reference. I did look it up. I also looked up reviews and such about it. Although they all agree that it's a sad fact that lesbian rape does happen, many have said it is (and I quote) "A slap in the face to any rape victim". The recounts from the victims and the renactments (which I read are more like softporn clips acted out by very attractive women) don't go together, making it a Russ Meyer movie with a few interviews inbetween to give it validity. Furthermore, it doesn't incite any sources, hard facts (like percentages etc), the "expert doctors" and neither the institutes they're from are named, and no helplines/addresses or helpcentres are given for anyone to contact if they've been a victim touched by the subject. Giving that as a source for your argument is ridiculous. | 14-04-2009 13:01 ice_white_tiger |

| * offtopic : I'd also like to point out that there were also a few reviews that did say this was a good documentary... I'm not going to ignore those, but for something that supposedly gives 10% of its profits to the cause, alot more people have said it's very uninformative on the facts and hard to take the reanactments seriously when they don't correspond to the victims' accounts.

| No to same sex marriage->marriage is a heterosexual concept and not from the governments. The western world form of marriage came for traditional family's of dad/mom and kids which is the back bone of society plus from Judeo-Christianity.MARRIAGE-is for uniting the two human genders also for natural procreation and a dad and a mom for and with kids. NOTE-history,naturalism,Spirituality and tradition all inform the title of marriage is exclusively for a man and a woman. | 08-06-2009 19:14 Captain_Keeta | 4,272 posts
