| i have been with my boyfriend nearly six months, and its going really great, im really happy with him. but i cant help being curious about his ex, they were together nearly three years. hes honest about her, but doesnt like talking.
recently he confessed shed talked him into doing a music video with her, and kind of - but not explicitly - told me not to watch it. except i found it the net... and i couldnt help but do exactly that.
i hated it because he was all over her, and he was looking at her the way he looks at me. i dont know whether to tell him i saw it, or just live with it and accept she was part of his past...
it will crush him if he found out, hes incredibly insecure.
(sorry this is so long winded... i needed it off my chest) |

I've gone through this alot with my current boyfriend... he's got quite a few ex girlfriends... and their relationships have left bits all over the place... and considering I moved in with him.. it was hard constantly finding pictures and old letters everywhere.
I wouldn't want him to call me 'baby' because he said the same thing to someone else.... it's hard.. it's really hard not being the 'first' in someone's life.
I say talk to him about it... if you are serious about having a relationship talk... communicate everything... never be afraid to speak.
The biggest downfall of most relationships now days is communication, or the lack there of.... people are afraid of talking.. so lies start... withheld information... so on.
I know pretty much everything about my boyfriend... his full past.. everything he's ever done, anyone he's ever been with... all of it. Because I wanted to know fully the guy I was giving my heart to. And he knows everything about me. Some people say 'oh the past is the past'.... but the past never really stays in the past. There have been quite a few situations that have came up in my relationship with him that I'm glad we had talked about prior... because it make the shock.. less.. and it made me comfortable knowing that there wouldn't be any surprises.
It feels good to be able to talk with your partner about anything... even the hard stuff. Sure this is something that happened before... but if it makes you uncomfortable you need to talk to him... you need to allow him the chance to comfort you about it.. instead of just hiding the fact that it bothers you.
Never hide anything... and never deny him the chance to defend himself, when he deserves that. Also... never deny him his duty as a boyfriend to keep you happy and comfortable. Just make sure you let him know how you honestly feel.. and WHY it bothers you. No just a lecture about his past and so on...
And most of all just realize that... no matter who he had before.. you are the present and hopefully the future. Hold onto that ... because the present always means more than the past.
