Those are the lyrics to Anggun's song

I can't count
Stars in the sky
Or climb the mountains
I can't even swim all the seas
But I know
Absence is unfair
Nothing can replace what I miss

'Cause I'm breathing
Far away from you
And every second feels like thousands more without you
I'm breathing
For this love to live
Believe that one day life will take me there beside you

Like the north needs the south
The wind needs the clouds
To all of these reasons of life
I need you
To change the wrong
To become true
And to take me to where I belong

'Cause I'm breathing
Far away from you
And every second feels like thousands more without you
I'm breathing
For this love to live
Believe that one day life will take me there beside you

I'm breathing
Breathing there beside you
There beside you

Breathing
Far away from you
And every second feels like thousands more without you
I'm breathing
For this love to live
And I will keep believing one day life will take me
Beside you

I wish I'd found this last year! I'm from New Zealand and was always planning to go to Australia for uni. Then six months before I left I fell in love with a darling guy who I'd known for a while. Even while I lived in NZ he was at a boarding school and only saw me once a fortnite - even though he was around the road, literally! When I moved to Aus I missed him terribly. We were determined to make it work, but spent most of the year arguing and raking up HUGE bills on our cellphones.

Some of my fav NZ songs on LDR:
Crowded House - Better Be Home Soon
Shihad (now Pacifier ) - Home Again
Shihad - Spacing

My story has a happy ending - despite arguing like crazy for all of 2003, and i mean ARGUING like nothing on earth - I can't emphasise the ARGUING enough, we stuck it out because we both thought we were meant to be together. This year he moved to Australia with me - and in the past 10 months we haven't fought as much as we used to in one phone call. He's great

Btw: Crowded House, Better Be home Soon
Somewhere deep inside
Something’s got a hold on you
And it’s pushing me aside
See it stretch on forever

I know I’m right
For the first time in my life
That’s why I tell you
You’d better be home soon

Stripping back the coats
Of lies and deception
Back to nothingness
Like a week in the desert

I know I’m right
For the first time in my life
That’s why I tell you
You’d better be home soon

So don’t say no, don’t say nothing’s wrong
Cos when you get back home maybe I’ll be gone

It would cause me pain
If we were to end it
But I could start again
You can depend on it

I know I’m right
For the first time in my life
That’s why I tell you
You’d better be home soon
That’s why I tell you
You’d better be home soon

Hell that made me cry last year

Shihad/Pacifier - Home Again
Well i'm sad but I'm not empty,
'cause today it's on the cards that I'm on the move
It's alright 'cause when i'm leaving,
my mind draws me a picture to keep of you

Because I can, get a little lonely once in a while
Because I can, i've become a victim of your smile
and you know I can, make it back from all those miles

I'm sore from crash landing,
but at least I made it back from my trip to the moon
And it's alright 'cause when I'm spacing,
the thrill of anticipation gets me through,
I've gotta get to you

Because I can, get a little lonely once in a while
Because I can, i've become a victim of your smile

Though it hurts sometimes remember,
that the beauty lies in everything you do
And it's alright, I know you don't believe in love,
but I believe in you, oh yes I do, yes I do

It's alright 'cause when I'm spacing,
my mind draws in, and reaches out to you

Though it hurts sometimes remember,
that the beauty lies in everything you do
And it's alright, I know you don't believe in love,
but I believe in you, oh yes I do, yes I do
Oh yes I do, yes I do, yes I do.

I forgot – and this is my favourite – it says so much about the problems we had!

Shihad – Home Again

Put your clock back for the winter
She asks when I'll be home again?
If I could see those eyes
I know they'd cut me down to size
You're not here, when i need you

So sit and wait
And bend and break
You rise and fall
Just you, that's all
I'm here, you're there
It don't mean I don't care
I'm so sorry I was miles away
It's been a day of tiny triumphs
It's been a week spent in despair
You can't send it down a phone line
I do my best, but i'm not there

So sleep and wake
And dream up your fate
And rise and fall
Watch you grow tall
I'm here your there
But you should know i still love you
When i am miles away

I hadn't listened to the lyrics of this song - then on the day NZ (but not Australia!!) changed the clocks for daylight saving I happened to hear it. The first line got my attention, and by the end of it I was absolutely sobbing for an hour. I was also as homesick as anything you see!

Actually lots of Shihad/Pacifier songs are about LDR - I read the lead singer was in Aus. a lot and missing his gf in NZ.. so that made them even sadder for me

Long distance relationship can work out quite nicely depending on how far away people are from each other, some couples may like the space but some may not

Roxy_Ryan's right. I have been with my absolutely amazing boyfriend, for over two years now. And we could never be happier, unless we were "together, together" obviously.
Both of the people in the relationship just have to be commited & trusting. Without that, you have nothing.
LDR's do have their ups and downs as we all know. More downs, but it doesn't mean that they're any different friom a regular relationship. In LDR's you find out more about eachother rather then a regular relationship, because all you can do is talk. Its definately worth it.

Though i think the song is kinda sappy Boxcar racer - there is....there is someone out there who feels just like you

Also Nickleback feelin way too damn good...how great it is when you finally see your bf/gf

Someone said MxPx-Everything sucks...excellent song
Also Sarah's version of Song for a Winter's Night is actually a cover of Gordon Lightfoot, so theres also that version.

No Aphrodisiac - The Whitlams

In fact, tons of Whitlams sons were written about LDRs. Loooove that band.

All these are great LDR songs, just none of them are the one I'm looking for! I'm sure it's just because I'm being picky. I've been known to be that way sometimes!! I joined the military and my guy was still in high school. we made it 6 months and his immaturity, the distance and several other things broke us up. then I started seeing a guy from where i was stationed, nothing official(though neither of us dated anyone else), then we both moved! He moved north and I moved south! things became official after we were 8 hours away from one another!! Thankfully I'm going to school about 5 miles from where he lives in Nov So we'll be together then but until then it's about to kill me. I miss him so much! I just want to be able to lie in his arms and be held. He's working on a time travel machine for me though so I'll let you know how that goes!!
