| can't believe there isn't a sticky about jobs! Anyway, I'd like some time to complain.
Before I begin, I'd like to mention my work situation. See, my job is very physical. The required number of people that should be listed for the job is 6+. We have two. So, four days out of the week, we have only one unloader.
Anyway, I've been sick lately. I went into work today because I knew that no one else was there so there was no one to fill-in for me. I realized after about two hours that I wasn't going to be able to work. I finally decided to call my manager, and what did she say? "Finish the truck, then we'll talk." After about another hour, I couldn't take it. I burst out into tears, and another co-worker thought that I vomited, so she told the manager and I finally got to leave.
So, unloading the truck is more important than my health? Hmmm.....ok...wtf-ever.
and stick it is =) ... I can get some good use out of this one |

| Yeaaaa, well I got the drama at work.
This woman, she's like in her late 30's early 40's or something thinks she's the best thing that ever happen to the Fire Departments Administration... and she's been running her mouth lately about a lot of the older members of the department... and she picked me to gossip with today. And well I just took it upon myself to inform the person that she was talking about... which happens to be one of my closest coworkers... needless to say they are going to have an 'internal investigation' .. hopefully she will get fired before the rest of us quit because of her... ugh.
I have a longer rant than this, but I'm tired.

| They've cut down my hours, I have to make them up by working an extra day, and the people in here aren't all that great... I sometimes feel as though they don't really like me all that much either...

| You are a terrible manager, how did you even become a manager? You need to do your own work, stop shoving it off on others, and then yelling at me because I didn't finish everything on time so YOU could leave work early. Next time, I'm going to take my time, and do everything wrong, so you'll get out late, and maybe you won't ask me to do it ever again.

| Sierra, you're job sounds so much like mine it's scary.....

| Today was awesome, my manager came over and asked me if I could hang these tags, and I just flat out said no, and then he said he was going to stop asking us to do things "nicely" and that he was going to start demanding it get done, I just walked away. | So I knew that I was opening with that one crapshaith manager I hate on Sunday, so I decided to call in sick, I'm so awesome. I have Monday and Tuesday off, so three day weekend for me! When I called in he was all cool about it, which was weird, he said, "well, I hope you feel better", and I said, "yeah" and hung up, heh. | Ok, so I was doing my shelf facing and my manager comes up behind me and tries to scare me, I just gave him this kind of rude look, and here's the conversation:
Me: "Why are you so playful at night, but during the day you're kind of pissy?"
Assface Manager: "Well, during the day people piss me off more because they don't do the things I tell them to."
Me: "Maybe because half the things you give us to do are part of YOUR job."
Assface Manager: "You know, Lauren said the same thing to me the other day, if you say it again, we're gonna have issues. My job is to make sure everything is done, I don't care who has to do it."

^^ he has a point tho. managers are just here to supervise *your* job. hes not supposed to do anything but yell at u when u forget to do something. that sucks but thats work, some pple take pride in the lil "power" they have over other pple.
im sayin that but i have a comfortable job where no one ever tells me to do stuff. i can do anything i want provided it resembles an english lesson. but yea, it turns out i actually want to do my job properly, so i put a lot of energy in it. i like my job, even if the kids are obnoxious. | | 0 @ 12-05-2007 23:24 PinkFloyd |

| I originally had last Saturday off, I was excited about this, I rarely, rarely get a Saturday or Sunday off, I didn't make any plans, but still, Suzanne called in sick for Photo, so my manager called me and asked if I could come in, I didn't want to, but I'm the manager of my department, so I thought I should, especially since I didn't really make any plans. But once I got there, Daniel was already there covering Photo, and I was a little confused, maybe he called Daniel and I to see which one of us could come, and maybe since Daniel came in, he should have called me and told me not to. So I asked him, and he said he called both of us to come in, so I could work on resets. I was beyond pissed off, he asked if I wanted to come in and cover Suzanne's shift, so, I yelled at him for it. I don't mind coming in to cover a shift that's needed, but resets can wait, there's no hurry, ugh, I was mad, I stayed for an hour then left, and he had the nerve to ask me if I could stay until 4, and I went in at 11, bah! | i had to work by myself last night b/c the manager above me cant hire good ppl. it wasnt bad working, i got alot of tips cause ppl felt sorry for me lol but it sucked cleaning the whole store by myself, it took 2 hrs.
grrrr. i told her she needs to do something about that girl or i wont work when i have to work with her again, i will go home *&* she can do everything herself.
im so over the crap at that place. things calm down then more drama starts. jesus. then she had the nerve to ask if i wanted to stay through the summer since i dont start school till fall. i was like LOLLLLx25. you couldnt pay me enough to stay. that would require like a 4 dollar raise haha. im gone in january sucka. |
