I am really getting serious about wanting to learn to play the guitar, suggest any good sources of media to learn from since i dont want to take classes and dont have acomputer around me all the time?

Hal Leonard and Mel Bay make excellent beginner guitar methods

for DVDs try Andy Aledort's Guitar World guide to playing rock guitar

if that doesn't do it for you, look at Paul Gilbert or John Petrucci newest instruction DVDs, but be warned you better have some idea what your doing beforehand

Speaking of Hal Leonard, they released a DVD on how to play songs from Jimi Hendrix's - Are You Experienced album. I was wondering if anyone has this DVD... cause I'd love to get my hands on it.
