how to read tabs?

| im brand new, day one, and im trying to learn how to read the tabs. i know the basics, but i dont understand what it means, when 2 or more strings, have numbers on them in line with eachother. like the top 3, have a 7, 9, 9, all right above eachother. am i supposed to hold those frets and strum all 3 strings or what? anyone know a good place to read up on that? |

| haha my bf plays guitar and he writes music too and sometimes ill look at the tabs hes either printed out off the internet or from something hes made and i got totally confused. i wanna learn how to play guitar but i prolly couldn read tabs. i kno a one string song tho!! so im pretty happy wit myself. i taught myself how to play it too. took like 2 mins. my bf says i have a natural talent for it and then he tries to teach me a song and i got totally lost. | | 0 @ 23-03-2007 22:34 danastasia | 19,286 posts
