im watchin a tv show and the host is named Carole Rousseau. when i think of the name carole, its like its not really my name, cuz i never say it lol it sounds weird.
i like my name cuz its not that common and it exists in other languages, well it exists in english as in carol, so i dont have to repeat it five times before pple get it...

i heard somewhere that kids who have unusual names are more popular. cuz basically u remember an uncommon name more, so u remember the person better.
i guess its true. i only know one Tabitha, one Sierra, one Cassie, one Gabe (

), so they're super popular with me lol

226 posts	My name is okay... Amanda. It means "Worthy of Love". I like the meaning, I just don't like how common it is. I grew up with 7 other girls with my name. Kinda pulls the plug on the whole "you are unique" thing. But it's okay. I guess. I know I will name my kid something unique. Like really uncommon. Like Isis for a girl, or Magnus for a boy.

21,747 posts	I like my name, I suppose. Definitely could be much worse. Except when I was younger I was really jealous of all the other girls because they had those super popular names that can be shortened into cute little nicknames & I just didn't have one of those, lol. But, yeah, I'm over it.

2,982 posts	My name is not really rare, but it's not one of those you hear everyday either, at least here in Quebec. I travelled to Nova Scotia once and people thought I had such an unusual name. I like it because it's short, easy to remember and not so common, but at the same time, I think it sounds a little weird, just a little.

2,736 posts	I guess I like my name, Maria, but the nickname 'Ria' seems cool, but everyone except my mom and the ppl on LSI call me Maria. My real name's Marian, but I don't like that, it sounds so old or something. My last name is confusing too, either of the three names are just the same. There's already a Ria Jones, Maria Jones, and Marian Jones in the world...

730 posts	I like my name, but I don't like how it's pronounced by english speaking people. my name is Anne, but you don't say it like Ann, but like Ahnuh the only thing is, is that there are tons of other girls named anne where I live. which is annoying, cos when somone calls your name, you don't know if they mean you, or one of the other anne's in the room.... but I like my name

1,430 posts	my name is athina. i think it's average, as in, it's not too bad, nor excellent. it's not very common, the only people that are athina's are greek (so far), so there's not much guessing when it comes to my nationality!

4,568 posts	depends... sometimes I like sometimes I dont. its a really popular name here, everywhere I go, there's gotta be another Lital. as a matter of fact, my best friend called Lital too, so that a problem. but we just call ourselfs in our last names. But in general, I like it. I wouldnt say L-O-V-E it, but its ok... there are worst names. and btw, its pronounced "Li-taaaal", not little!!!! for all of u americans.

1,423 posts	Wow, what's with everyone and uncommon names. There's too many people who dislike certain names just because they're common. Stephanie is an extremely common name where I live. It's probably the most common girls' name at my school. That's why a lot of my friends and other people I know dislike it. But I still like it. I don't care how common or uncommon it is. It IS kind of annoying when you hear people shout your name, and then start looking around and realize they were talking to someone else (or when someone shouts your name and you ignore them because you think they're talking to someone else when they were talking to you) but you get used to that. Another thing that I sort of dislike is how many times little kids or people who don't know English very well mispell it. I guess it has a few alternate spellings but I like the way I spell it best. I know someone with the same name who spells it Stefani, but that reminds me of Gwen Stefani lol

441 posts	i like my name, heather is not completely uncommon now as it was a few years ago...it seems since like 6th grade i've met more heathers. right now i think i know 4 or 5 heathers. plus it's the name of a scottish flower. i think that's kind of how i got it b/c i'm scottish and all. i'm just glad it's not stephanie like it was supposed to be, cause it seems like everyone has that name. and with what Schatzi said, it was kinda disappointing not be able to have a cute nickname, but that's ok. with one of these names people can't mess them up to badly....and i was watchin a show on CMT the other day called "Trick my Truck" and the guy who they were trickin his truck for had Stacy as his name. it was weird b/c i've only heard that as a girls name...so i was confused for a little bit...

2,772 posts	My name's Stephanie too, but it's not common here at all. All through school I never met another Stephanie, and now at uni I don't recall meeting another Stephanie. I think in itself, it's quite a nice name though. It's not plain, but it's not too unusual that people have to make me repeat it when they ask my name!

735 posts	My name is suha it's an arabic name and it sounds nice but when non-arabs pronounce it , it becomes a disaster ! My name is not that popular I wish I was called sumthin to go with te arabs and non-arabs like sarah, nadia, lina ,layla ,layal those kinda stuff ! But it's not THAT BAD !

I used to hate it being shortened, but my friends at school did it, and I got used to being called all sorts of things. I know quite a lot of people called Lucy, but not many called Lucinda. People often spell it wrong though.
