LetsSingIt (short: LSI) is pleased to announce a public competition to design a new LSI logo. For sure there will be enough talent among the LSI members and visitors to come to a whole new original logo that will represent LSI for the next couple of years.

New site

Last July the LSI website has been renewed. The structure has been refreshed and many new features were added to the site. The logo has been the same for 4 years now and now it’s the time to complete the new ‘look and feel’ with a new logo; A logo which will become the new mark point for LSI for the next few years!

About LetsSingIt

Before we step into the contest details, first a brief history about LSI. LSI was founded in 1998 and is a music community where people can find music related information about almost every artists on the planet, biographies, album tracklists, lyrics, news, fanpages, pictures, your name it, it is al there!

Visitors can become a member of LSI and interact with the community through the forum, chatroom or discussions/reviews on many items on the site (artists, albums, lyrics, etc). LSI has over 750.000 members, which grows with many hundreds per day. Members can use a lot of extra functions on LSI. They can bookmark artists, albums and lyrics, create a personal LSI-page, publish pictures, start a web log, receive and send messages. Thereby they can help expand the content of the website and add artist-information. A member can also volunteer to become an artist moderator, which gives a member control over the content of an artist on LSI.

Contest Rules

Ok, now back to the contest. The main logo for LSI which will be used for the website, promotional material, printed media, favicon and so on.

- The logo should exist of a symbol and the text "LetsSingIt" (no .com).
- There should be room for a slogan. But the logo should also be usable without it.
- For use on the LSI website, the logo should cover the total rectangle-area (see example).
- The logo must be identifiable directly to LSI.
- The logo must be original work of the submitter.
- The logo should be vector graphics, not a bitmap image.
- The logo should be usable in monochrome and color media, including limited colors (duotone or tritone).
- The logo should be usable in different size (large, small).
- The symbol should be usable without the text part of the logo.

Contest Participation

The competition is open to all designers, both professional and non-professional. The submission deadline is on November 15, 2006 23:59:59 LSI-time

Submission Format

Each submission should be sent to logocontest@letssingit.com and should include the following information:

1) High resolution presentation sheet with examples of the logo in different color schemes, sizes, with/without symbol and/or slogan (see example).
2) Design concept / description.
3) Submitter's full name, email address and website-url (if you have any).

Voting

From the competitors the LSI team will choose 3 or more entries that will become finalists. The finalists will be published on LSI. All members can vote for their favorite finalist by email. The finalist with the highest number of votes will become the official LSI logo. Entries that didn’t make the final round will also be published.

Prize

The prize is your name including a link to your site on the front-page next to the LSI logo-banner for 1 full year (for example: "logo created by ...."). LSI is visited by more then 500,000 unique visitors every day, so your text on the frontpage will put your site in the spotlight for sure!

Copyright assignment

LSI will acquire ownership of the winning logo by assignment of copyright, and the winning designer will disclaim any trademarks and without limitation all other rights related to the design (paperwork will be required). By submitting a logo for entry in the competition, the designer acknowledges that he/she is the person that made the logo and is its rightful owner. The designer also certifies that the logo does not infringe upon the rights of any third party and that it does not violate any copyright. We reserve the right to have the winning concept further developed by our creative team. Additionally this will allow us to formulate a style guide and versions specific to various media formats.

they shouldn't change the logo, because that ol' yellow logo is what's letssingit.com is all about.

Well yeah, the banner fits the site; so i guess the winner might have decided to "revamp" the banner instead of go completely unique... That's what i'm attempting at least.
