1. Beloved, by Toni Morrison.
3. I love it, its well written (i read in English), and its very American (if that makes sense).
4. Its set in rural Ohio after the Civil War. The main character is Sethe, she escaped from slavery, and lives with her daughter in a haunted house. Well its a chronicle of slavery and its consequences.

3. Yea it's really good - perhaps better than the film (which is amazing).
4. It's about this guy who has insomnia and meets this other guy and they start a fight club which escalates to anarchy and terrorism. Twist at the end.

1.What book are you reading right now?
(Not right at this moment as you are reading this, but the book you are currently reading)
Lexicon Devil:The Fast Times and Short Life of Darby Crash and the Germs By Brendan Mullen

3.And do you like it? Its about one of my favorite bands, the germs and it has a bunch of comments from people who were actually there...

4.What is it about? *ahem*...a riviting chronicle of the rise of LA's punk band the Germs and about the life of its lead singer, heroin addict Darby Crash. Its just a good book...even if your not a big Germs fan...it has commentary from a lot of imprtant figures in the late 70's- early 80's Los Angeles punk scene...Read this if you are interested about some good ol' fashion punk history!!

*Bitter and hideously depressed...*

I haven't read a book in YEARS.. (shame on me) The last one I read was Garland's "the Beach" (I also read it in English). It was absolutely awesome, I finished in in a few days, I used to come home tired and sleepy, but as I started reading I went on until very late night.. For those of you who haven't yet read it, I REALLY suggest!!

The last non related school book i read was called something like "learning to fly" i don't even remember who it was by.

It was such a great book.. & a recount of what life is like to some people.
it was about a young boy, Seymour, i think he is about 12 or something, who is sent to stay with his mothers friend for the summer break while because she is working & unable to take care of him during the day.

The women he is sent to stay with is an old, lonely, conservative type, who does not make any effort to make the stay even the slightest bit enjoyable for the boy.

During the days when is doing her own thing, working in the garden, cleaning the house etc, she usually sends him to the shop to pickup the food for dinner that night, one day he meets a girl called Angie, a 19 year old rebel, she is so nice to Seymour, the boy & takes him out with her.

The two become good friends and angie provides a sort of mothership that seymour never really encounted, anyway there is a lot to learn about Angie & her past, she is a drug, sex addict etc.

It's a good book i enjoyed it, i heard it was made into a movie, under a different title tho. i will try and find out the proper title, just my memory isn't too good

Well... people have been offering me lots of books.

- Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (3rd time I read it) - J. K. Rowling

- Os Maias (crap book you have to read for school)
Writter: Eça de Queirós

- Bridget Jones' New Diary - Helen Fielding

- Lolita (Don't read it!!) - Vladimir Nabokov

- Capitães da Areia (Captains of the sand) - Jorge Amado

For now I'm only reading these... and I advise you not to read any of them (except Harry Potter, it's not so depressing compaired to the others).

One of the best books that I've read lately is Sue Monk Kidd's 'The Secret Lives of Bees'.....its about a little white girl who lives with her racist father and black nanny.....then when the nanny insults some of the towns biggest bigots the two women run away and meet the Boatwright sisters (April May and June.......Lily calls them the calendar sisters) ....they move in with them and learn all about keeping bees...and a whole lot more about life ....and surprisingly more about the mother Lily never knew...great for anyone who didn't know their own mother like me!

Well... what these books are about:
Capitães da Areia (Captains of the sand/ Sand Captains) - its about some teenagers in Brasil that rob rich people's houses and live in a big tent in the beach and they like to have sex with the girls that go to the beach and to kill each other. It's crap!

Lolita - Its about a 30 year man that has an obcession about a 12 year girl called Lolita and marries her ugly monster-type mother just to be close to her... soon the mother dies and he becomes step-father of the girl, he gets on the road with her and starts to have sex with her in every hotel they go to... then the girls runs away and gets pregnant. Don't read it!

Bidget Jones' New Diary - A funny women that makes evething look to complicated and her life becomes a comedy.

1.What book are you reading right now?

"What a carve up" - Jonathan Coe

3.And do you like it?

Yes I do, it's responsible for (a minor part of) my lack of sleep lately, need to read a part of it every night before I go to sleep (haven't got much time during the day)

4.What is it about?

It's a fictional family history, but mixed with real (recent) history, a family influencing Britain's history all revolving around two 'murders', one in 1942 and one in 1961, seems one giant puzzle but slowly pieces fall into place.

(one week back into history, but I couldn't get online then )

1.What book are you reading right now?

"Dead famous" - Ben Elton

3.And do you like it?

Do I ? You bet I do, read it in two days.

4.What is it about?

'Big Brother', but not as we not it. The audience is bored of watching ordinary people doing nothing for months in reality tv so nobody expects the new series of Big Brother to become a succes but ... somehow this show is different, this show attracts more viewers ever when on day 27 one of the housemates gets killed with thousands of people watching live on the net and 40 cameras recording every move in the house. And still police have no clue who did it, inspectors have thousands of hours of tape to watch and investigate, with the whole world watching because the 'surviving' contestants stay in the house, all of them suspects of the murder, but all of them staying in the house to become (dead) famous ...

Excellent book, respect to Ben Elton
