3,690 posts | i think this is dumb, it should be a personal list, not a group effort, maybe w/in a group of friends, but not here, like seriously, its an important thing that you should give a lot of though, but it is a deeply personal thing. |

12,768 posts | Puddle_of_sugar. This thread was only made in an attempt to stop the countless number of 'Funeral Songs' threads being made and therefore clogging up the 'Actives Lists'.
Personally I agree that songs should be personal but if nothing else, this thread gives people a few ideas. |

104 posts | Am I the only one who finds it odd that people already have their funeral songs picked out? Or even worse, listing them? Is there nothing else to talk about? Haha... |

7,164 posts | good list id agree with most of them maybe not just a day by feeder the lyrics maybe but the actual song is way to happy for a funeral id reccomend the trick is too keep breathing by garbage and aint no sunshine i dont know hu did it originally tho. november rain by guns n roses is my new favourite song so i'll have to have that!
stuff like radiohead is good like no surprises and how to dissappear completely. the manics have great lyrics for this kinda stuff so maybe nobody loved you, so why so sad and you stole the sun from my heart. probaly suicide is painless (the marilyn manson version is more morbid than the manics) muse's lyrics are quite good so maybe stuff like bliss, darkshines, apocalypse now, shine acoustic and endlessly. i'd probaly like to have oasis' cast no shadow (acoustic) ok ive think ive dun enough! jezxx |

51 posts | funeral songs eh? well i rekon that songs that make you cry would be good songs... like there is this stupid song by the dixie chicks and everytime my mum plays it i start crying, then there is this other one by vicka and linda that makes me cry, but i will probly want one that will make evryone remember me everytime they hear it... a really famous one... but yeah, funeral type songs are truly sad... |

That is a good funeral song (is it a good funeral song if it makes everyone cry?) |

61 posts | I agree with some of those songs, but don't you think it would be a bit disrespectful to play "In The Club- 50 Cent" at a funeral? With grieving people having the loss of a family member/friend? I mean 50 cent songs arnt exactly clean words. If i was the dead person, i'd feel very offended. Maybe if it was a mafia member or something but someone normal?!

28,548 posts | hmm, If I died RIGHT now, I'd want them to play 3 songs at my Funeral
Simple Plan - Meet You There "And where I go you'll be there with me Forever you'll be right here with me" Linkin Park - In The End "I tried so hard and got so far but in the end it doesn't even matter" Led Zepplin - Stairway To Heaven "And it's whispered that soon, if we all call the tune Then the piper will lead us to reason And a new day will dawn for those who stand long And the forest will echo with laughter" |

****Fishin'in the dark-Nitty Gritty Dirt Band ****Still the Same-Bob Seger The ole man says he wants "Travelin' Man" by Seger played ay his service. I think the idea of having a contemporary song played at a funeral is to make those left behind remember a good time from the past. "Travelin Man" is the very first song we danced to course if he goes before me and that song is played I problably wouldn't ever be able to hear it again without crying but then again maybe that is the point??? |

56 posts | I do partly agree with some peopls views, For instance any song can be a funeral song, just depends on the persons tastes and how they lived their life.
