I've been to a few funerals, unfortunately. But one song that really gets me teary is Sailing; by Rod Stewart. Very sad. And there is a song by Live called Lightning Crashes. Also i feel is appropriate for a funeral.

If anybody played freaking Green Day at my funeral, I'd come back as a zombie and kill anyone I could get my decomposing hands on.

I only know a couple I ant on my funeral...

Imagine - John Lennon
Outlaw Torn - Metallica
To Live is to Die - Metallica
Oh My Love - John Lennon
Burning (I think it's called that) - Jeff Buckley
Hallelujah - Jeff Buckley
The Big Picture - Bright Eyes

So yeah. I guess there are a couple more I'd really like if they were played, but these are the ones in my head right now.

One song that i would want played at my funeral would be 10,000 Miles by Mary Chapin Carpenter. Very sad song. One other song would be "Anywhere but Here" by Rise Against. Not what you would normally hear at a funeral. They also have a great song called "Swing Life Away" that has more of a positive theme. Last, but not least, almost anything from Evanescence or Nightwish.

i don't have any songs, but i do have a song that you SHOULDN'T play.

enya - may it be

may seem like the ideal song to play at a funeral, but it is too sad. It was played at my grandad's funeral and everybody got over-emotional, i couldn't see one person not crying. There are songs which suit, but this one really crosses the line.

my song would be Minute of Decay be Marilyn Manson

There's not much left to love
Too tired today to hate
I feel the empty
I feel the minute of decay
I'm on my way down now, I'd like to take you with me
I'm on my way down
I'm on my way down now, I'd like to take you with me
I'm on my way down

The minute that it's born
It begins to die
I'd love to just give in
I'd love to live this lie

I've been to black and back
I've whited out my name
A lack of pain a lack of hope
A lack of anything to say

There is no cure for what is killing me
I'm on my way down
I've looked ahead and saw a
World that's dead
I guess that I am too

The minute that it's born
It begins to die
I'd love to just give in
I'd love to live this lie

I'm on my way down, I'd like to take you with me...

At my funeral i would want:

Shine your light by robbie robertson
Helena by my chemical romance
Hallejah by rufus wainright
You can still be free by savage garden
