When there are kids who are...say...thirteen and younger (or worse--people who act like they're thirteen and younger) on message boards, things get pretty screwed up. Let me explain:

A little kid on a board will probably start a thread like "everyone who likes green day post here!!" or "come here if you shop @ hollister!" Not that there's anything wrong with greenday or hollister, but threads like these are pretty pointless. What do they really accomplish? We'll maybe learn that Bobby likes hollister and suzie listens to green day. So what? And that's not even the wors of it.
Whoever starts this thread will probably say something like "no haters allowed." So let's pretend that a twelve-year-old girl named Cassie has found her way onto a message board. So she starts a thread called "post here if you love lindsey lohan!!!" In her post she writes, "no haters allowed." This means that if anyone doesn't like lindsey lohan and says so...well...that won't be good. So then, an 18 year old guy named Jeff, who's been on this board for a long time, sees this thread and happens to hate linsey lohan. so he writes a post in this thread saying "I disagree. I don't like lindsey lohan because...." and whatever his reason may be. Cassie gets mad that a "hater" has found his way onto her thread so she writes a replie that looks something like this: "omg this thread is for linsey lohan lovers ONLY. if you dont like her you are stupid. go away!!!!" Then jeff gets offended and then there's a huge fight between him and Cassie over whether or not lindsey lohan is a good actor/singer/whatever else she is. This turns into a whole long thread about nothing which turns into junk and wasted space.

My point: it's ok for people to feel strongly about something and they can talk about it all they want on a message board. It gets annoying, though, when they say that only people who agree with them can post. different people have different opinions and little kids usually don't understand this, which is why they shouldn't be allowed on message boards.

end of my rant.

Get over it.

It's a public message board, which means people can post whatever they want - obeying the rules in the mean time - and whatever you say, there still will be people like that who mindlessly roam on message boards posting BS.

Besides, having disputes are fun. If someone does go off and say, "omg you are so stupid if you hate Lindsay Lohan, go away god" or some crap like that, just ignore it. Who cares? And why do you even bother going into a thread that's named "Lindsay Lohan Lovers Come Here!!!!" if you hate her?

^I agree, even tho some threads are rediculasly funny seeing people call each other names and stuff. But gosh, its freedom of speech. And it rocks! But I do understand the tweenagers coming on here and doin stuff like that, tis annoying. Though, you just gotta git over it! you know?

You're right. There are a lot of stupid little kids posting things like that. They're just dumb and immature, and they have to get used to things like that. Get over it. But I also agree that it's kind of fun/funny to argue with them or see people arguing. And most people who say dumb things such as "1f U d0n+ lYk Gr33n D4y U sUx0rZ" end up getting flamed. Then, the starter gets pissed off and decides to leave (except in some cases) and they're thread end up getting locked from so much arguing or for being so pointless, so problem solved.

The arguments are fun.

So are you saying that when you were thirteen, you were one of those little sons of bushes and now you hate yourself and that's why you started this topic?

maybe not.

Maybe she lacked self confidence at the age of 13.

different people have different opinions and little kids usually don't understand this, which is why they shouldn't be allowed on message boards.

Saying that makes you no better than them. They're saying that noone with different opinions are allowed to post. You're saying that they aren't allowed on message boards.

in all fairness - if it says "post here if you love lindsay lohan" then the clue is in the name.. if you don't like lindsay lohan then why bother saying you don't like her?? if you dont then find the "post here if you hate lindsay lohan" thread... easy really.

I see your points, but like someone else said this is a public forum. Anyone can join and post on it. So if kids want to come on here and post things like that they're going to get replies they don't like and they can either deal with it or leave. If they can't deal with it maybe they shouldn't be here but there are older people who can't deal with differing opinions too - and we can't really kick them out (unless they get really abusive or something).

So let the kids stay. And let them post what they want. And let people reply what they want.

You're only a 14 a kid yourself so therefore you're not allowed on forums.

Most forums who don't allow kids say that the age must be at least 16 or over for them not be a kid. By 16 you're meant to be a sensible young attitude. but you can't go around preaching this crap.

And thats the way fans are, deal with it ebcause you can't stop it. You're basically doing the same as what they do, so learn not to do whatever before you try and preach it's wrong.

our whole lives are based on pointless things....so they may not be so pointless....it is just chatting and expressing opinions
whoever disagrees with me i wont REALLY care whatever i reply to him/her
we are trying to have an interesting life without boredom here.... just having fun

I agree that is stupid when people say you can't post in this thread if you're a hater. It's a public forum. Most people are on them because they are bored. Soooo chances are they'll see your thread & want into their two cents. Get over it.

everyone is granted their right of freedom of speech, but some people, like the above mentioned pre-pubescent teenagers, abuse this privelage tremendously. yes, the arguments can be entertaining, but come on now, who really want to watch two 13-year-olds argue over whether or not lindsay can sing?

i love rants.

#3: You still don't get it.

true its annoying..

and thats why i dont bother reading those threads..
why would i read a thread about how awsome lindsay lohan is, if i dont give a damn about her??

to be honest.. i think the people that come in and say "Lindsay is gay blah blah" are even worse. its like they are just trying to start an argument..

Its not age, its maturity. You get Brooke (28141995), only 11 years old, and you get people twice her age with no maturity whatsoever. This is why an age restriction would not work.

I wouldn't mind going with an age restriction, if it meant we could actually exercise our freedom of speech, rather than having the veil of censorship thrown over it.

What would be a good age? I say you shut the hell up until you're in my phone book.

But that's just me.
