windows media player/music

| i know they have a help center on the wmp thing but i can't figure out what it would be under if they had this. but anyway, my music doesnt go to WMP unless i ripped it from a cd. the only way i can get my music from My Music to WMP is to drop it in there and that gets kinda annoying. does anyone know how to fix this? |

| in media player, go to
Media library
you can either auto scan or manually do it..
now open the folder with your music, drag it in to the library, from then you can make playlists and such..
I highly suggest using winamp though.. it is FAR easier and the ability to use a custom skin, or if you know how to, make your own, and the HUGE number of plugins, out classes media player in every way.. | | 0 @ 21-06-2006 03:15 dakondakblade |

| actually those directions were.. crap
step 1, open media player
step 2, open the folder where your music is stored in windows explorer
step 3, Click on *library* or media library or my library.. depening on which version you have..
step 4, drag the files from windows explorer in to the library
step 5, click on playlist, create new
step 6, drag the file from windows explorer to the playlist.. THis makes sure it doesnt scan and do all the crap it usually does, hence why I said add the files manually
from now on to listen to it, just open that playlist when you open media player 
although I highly suggest you check out winamp, as it is HIGHLY superior to windows media player,, and its easier to use and far more customizable
