| Hi!
I don't know if ther's already a thread about this, but I know you all are very creative and artistic, and I know some of you write poems.
Well, basicly her's where you post your poems (or someone else's) and hope your friends could give you comments about them.
I'll srart then. This is a poem I wrote a while ago and I really wanted to shear it with someone. I had to translate it from hebrew though, so it might not sound as good.
Self Portrait
--------------
You,
look in the miror
you see you didn't shave this morning, you
see the eyes
that refuses to open.
a dream is forgotten
something inside of you tells you
to look at you again.
a coulpe of hopes you once had,
drown with the teeth-brushing water
making it's way in the sewage's maze.
You stop watching.
after all, you
know what your face look like.
you know each wrinkle and each scar
and you can tell the story of
each one and one.
the thoughts are running within you
and you
shake them, wipe them, depart of them.
You are alive.
nothing more. |

Stab me with the blade
I freed you with

Through eyes of cyanide
With all these selfish fears

My inner demons attack

Innocent manipulation

With Satan's confirmation

Show you whats wrong with truth
Feeding you a poisoned diet
Strength of my lying fruits
I will show you how to deny it
Toying with you
And creeping from the light
I know just what to do
I hear an Angel cry tonight
With the fullest eclipse
Darkness in this little pit
Just as I kiss your lips
Your throat I feel me slit
With no more pain
And no more broken hearts
I rip your lovely veins
So Healing Eternity will start
Realization
I will follow to my grave
Desolation
Becoming Satan's slave

People make up gods and believe in after life
if youre a mormon you've got at least one wife
hipocrits in every sense
but opinions are too dense
men hold power... i wonder why
the women should be thin and shy
in the world US is best
but what about canada or all the rest
oh, no, wait, theyre not the best
fuck them all theyre communist
the gov't is worried about appearance's
theyre afraid of what "they" think
who the fuck is "they"? its like theyre scared to even blink
thinking we need the answers to all the fucking questions
making rules, not suggestions
making crimes and starting wars
refusing sex from half the whores
making bad things good, making good things not
legalizing cigarettes but never smoking pot
skimply clothes and baggy pants
saving trees and killing ants
telling dirty jokes and singing DIRRTY songs
one of them's acceptable, the other one is wrong
old people are driving blind
the world spins fast so never mind
so interested in gossip and famous people's lives
not afraid of taking plunges, just scared of taking dives
fashion, clothes, the coolest stores
politics are such a bore
bush won that election, not al gore
and monice was such a whore
VH1 and MTV
where's the people that really sing?
fixing cats, saving dogs
killing birds and squishing frogs
crazy jews and all their cash
amsterdam has got their hash
fancy phones and technology
gynocologist and proctology
spilling oil everywhere
all you see is blonde hair
fake breasts and silicone
happy gays and homophobes
diet foods and low carbs
all the models throw up or starve
society today, the meaning of life
which one's wrong or which one's right?
people's beliefs or the law?
which is better- pop or ska?
casual sex spreads disease
and people plead with god "OH PLEASE OH PLEASE!"
and herpes is spreading everywhere
and people act like they dont care
average people by the day
but by time it's night, porns the way
robbing banks and liquor stores
passing out on the floor
and littering the ocean shore
fighting just to get their way
so let them marry if theyre gay

| thought I'd add a little poetry given that I just signed up and all here's two poems I wrote...the first one's about a girl obviously...the second one has to do with politics and religion

I remember when I used to care
But I'm not sure I can feel anymore
I feel like an alien
In this cold world of hope
Save me before I become invisible
Remind me what it's like to feel
Because I need you now more than ever
Before this gravity gets the best of me
Purpose has fallen fast asleep
My heart has been left empty
Pumping only pain through my blood
What is real...what is just a dream?
Et lux intenebris lucet
You were my light
But it shines no more
Only to be left with confusion
Confusion and pain

There's a train headed out west
Jump on it's a free ride*
You're likely to find gold
It's got to be somewhere out there
It's the gold rush baby
Whatever you have leave it all behind with us
Trust me the rewards will be beyond your wildest dreams
This is your one chance...your purpose
And it's almost over
The trains almost here
But if you miss it...there's garunteed to be another train
But I expect it to be quite crowded
Because everyone that hasn't already gone
They're coming with us

I don't write a lot, just when I have too many mixed up feelings. I have never shown any of my poems to anyone, so i thought I'd give it a try here so that people can tell me what they (honestly) think, so that I can improve.
so...
Blurry shapes cross my eyes
the worst has arrived
I must hold on to my tears
or else I will fall appart
My memory is fading
now I'm left with nothing
hopeless signs of freedom
are keeping me in place
I won't go back
because the clock has stopped
it was my last chance
Fire blowing on my face
the worst is getting closer
heart pounding in my chest
Now time is going fast
soon I'll just be bones without flesh

My hidden feelings that appear when no one is around.
Smiles turn to frowns .
