77 posts	Just thought you all ought to know, guitar tabs are ILLEGAL and are an infringment of copyright law. Considering the site you are on, I must figure you are music lovers. Respect the rights of the bands you support. -Joe

26,350 posts	I feel like I get ripped off enough just buying a CD from an artist, they get shit loads of money anyway, which I guess really isn't the point, but people say it's stealing? Haha, sooner or later it'll be illegal to even listen to their music.

19,812 posts	With all the millions that bands make, I don't think a tab is really going to put them in the hole. People started downloading music instead of buying cd's, a much bigger source of income than tabs. So far I haven't heard of any band members filing for bankrupcy because of the loss of sales. They have other ways to make money. All this making tabs illegal crap is just the recording companies, as I said before.

77 posts	I don't know dude. I know it isn't that much of a big thing, but I respect the bands that I listen to, I don't feel like stealing from them. I wasn't trying to start anything, just stating a fact. Do what you want.

9,665 posts	Are you really willing to buy a book everytime you want to learn a song from a band you love? Or tab it by ear eeeevery time? I read tabs like 20 times a day, it's easy, fast and it doesn't hurt the band in any way.

Simply for punishment for posting this thread. Bands make a ton on cash on record sales, merchandise, and touring especially. I am sure they are thinking about tabs while they are busy selling out venues nation-wide.
