| I have a virus, and what it does is give me random pop-ups at the bottom of my screen that says "You have a virus, turn off your computer immediatly or else your computer will crash."... And it's not a message from a spyware remover or anything.. that's the virus..
So anyways, I ran a virus scan with 3 programs.. and yet it's still there.
What should I do? |

| You need to update your anti-viruses for them to be able to detect and/or repair newer viruses. If that doesn't work, use the system restore to reset your computer back a couple of days. | 0 @ 17-04-2006 03:23 Schatzi | 21,248 posts
| Unless it infected your system restore files like it did to mine so you have to completely reset it =) | 0 @ 17-04-2006 03:25 LinkinLawg | 19,068 posts
| worst case scenario would be using the restore disc, but only do that as a last resort. | 0 @ 17-04-2006 03:30 Dekar | 36,123 posts
| Kyle wasn't talking to the girl, I don't think. There was an idiot spammer who just posted something like "LOOOOOOOOOOOOSER!" or some long unrelated stupidity like that a few times in a row, and I just deleted them when I saw it. he must've been posting when I did that. | 0 @ 17-04-2006 04:02 that_wasnt_me | 1,441 posts
| you may already have this: get a program that deals strickly with viruses, i use AGH, i works, it even gets rid of Trojan. thats all the advise i can think of. | 0 @ 17-04-2006 04:11 LinkinLawg | 19,068 posts
| I think the best Anti-viruses to use are Norton and McAfee. I used to have Norton, but I recently switched over to McAfee, both work really well. | 0 @ 17-04-2006 04:26 JewUnit | 8,152 posts
| I just ran a scan again on all three programs then turned off my computer for a minute.. and then turned it back on.
For now, things are fine. Thanks for everyone's suggestions anyways.
And Julie, there was someone that posted before me saying random insulting crap.. and Matt deleted it. It wasn't implied for the chick. | 0 @ 17-04-2006 23:11 jen_jen_babe | 356 posts
| oh okay

| yea but your reply was kind of stupid all the same.. you can't just 'delete pop ups'... and of course it's infected and he needs to get it clean he just can't get it to work.
