| hello peeps
right, well i know the "print screen" button on keyboard for like, taking a pic of whats on my screen.
well, there's a film i own that i want to take some screen shots of at certain places for work.
but if i like, open and play the movie in Windows Media Player, and use the print screen button, and paste into Paint, it wont capture the actual film shot. it seems to work, but when i save it, it saves the background to it, but the actual film frame dissapears from the picture.
i was just wondering if anyone knew how to get around this?
or other players it will work on?
thanks in advance.

| I tried that before with WMP.
No success what so ever. | 0 @ 14-04-2006 20:02 Dekar | 36,121 posts
| For a screenshot to work in Windows Media Player, you have to turn off video acceleration first so the printscreen can capture single frames instead of blended video.
Detailed instructions
To do so, go to the Tools menu in Windows Media Player, and selection Options. Once the Options windows pops up, select the Performance tab, and you'll notice Video Acceleration at the bottom. Drag the pointer all the way to the left (to None), click OK, and you can take a screenshot in a video now using the PrintScreen key.

| I don't think you can take screen shots with a media player, unless you have a movie-making program (if that's what they're called) like Windows Movie Maker or something. You can capture shots from a video with that.
But I tried WMP, Winamp, VLC, Real Player and Quicktime and none of them worked. | 0 @ 14-04-2006 20:07 soojeysoosh | 3,869 posts
| Ignore what I just said, I didn't see Dekar's post. |
