24,877 posts	If you don't already know, I go to a very specialized school for art, where I major in creative writing. We are doing a unit on mythology, which conveniently is the theme of the Our Lady of the Lake University Literary Festival. OLLU is a rather prominent university around San Antonio, and they asked my teacher if they could have us submit some stuff to be presented. I was one of the 10 picked, and my piece 'Impressions from the Egyptian Exhibit' was read in front of an audience of about 500 people by a professional actress, in addition to simultaneously being broadcast over NPR (National Public Radio). Meaning that a few hundred thousand people heard my piece, and I got a bunch of calls about it from people who loved it. happy dance They don't have a tape of the NPR broadcast for us yet, but I happened to have my own camera with me at the time and recorded it myself. 5,872 posts	Aw well done! Your piece sounded awesome, really well written..very descriptive and eloquent (both of which i ADORE in writing). The actress person read it well too lol. congrats on being read/published/etc. that's really awesome, im very pleased for you

24,877 posts	Just thought I'd mention that I'm considering going to OLLU for college. Obviously they've got a good literature program, and the campus is gorgeous.
