| daylight savings time means longer time out in the sun w000 | 0 @ 02-04-2006 23:09 Zubaida | 154 posts
| Hehe i see what u mean.. I feel the same way, but i still like it coz then it doesnt get dark here at summer untill 11 PM.. thats really nice, i always take a walk with a friend at noght in the summer..
BUT yes it IS annoying when it right when it changes.. I always forget to either change the time on my alarm clock or on my phone, so i always come late for my appointment that day | 0 @ 02-04-2006 23:12 Dropkicked | 969 posts

| well yer but if they wanted an hours more daylight to work in why dont they just get up an hour earlier then go to bed an hour earlier instead of making us all change our clocks? Its not as if theyre actually creating an extra hour of sunlight, just messing with peoples body clocks.... | 0 @ 02-04-2006 23:27 Zubaida | 154 posts
| Hmm true.. I never thought of that.. Just that it was annoying. And that we have long summer nights up north.. | 0 @ 02-04-2006 23:29 NightHobbit | 23,464 posts
| and it isnt just scottish farmers too there are farmers all over the wrold for christsake and daylight savings time is good if you have your own little garden too with crops growing and its good for other things. | 0 @ 02-04-2006 23:31 NightHobbit | 23,464 posts
| Daylight Saving Time (or Summer Time as it is called in many countries) is a way of getting more out of the summer days by advancing the clocks by one hour during the summer. Then, the sun will appear to rise one hour later in the morning when people are usually asleep anyway, at the benefit of one hour longer evenings when awake: The sunset and sunrise are one hour later than during normal time.
DST could save energy (less artificial light is needed during the evening) and make the country more efficient in addition to the pleasing effect of lighter evenings.
To make DST work, the clocks have to be adjusted one hour ahead when DST begins (during spring), and adjusted back one hour to standard time every autumn. There are many countries observing DST, and many who do not.

| I found out it was daylight savings at 11:30 last night.. which sucked cuz I had to get up at 8 for work. So instead of only 8 hours of sleep I got only 7. Which may seem good to some, but I sleep alot. | 0 @ 03-04-2006 03:17 stasia18 | 59 posts
