249 posts	I think Harry Potter is interesting, but I still like the first one the best, it lost its innocence and by the fourth book I think things were very sinister indeed. If they keep going at this rate, the books that will follow are goign to be VERY heavy reading, not at all suitable for kids... And, I was disappointed with the movie. This was mainly because of cast selection: in the book Hermione is not a pretty petite girl. She is meant to have sticking-out teeth and yeah, she didn't look like the girl who played her. It shows how shallow society is, that even people who aren't represented as being classic pretty girls are made to be them to gain the audience's approval. I thought she was a good actress but she just wasn't the same old Hermione. Er, and sorry if I have offended anyone with my outright negativity. ~Karlee~ ~Karlee~

12,289 posts	no, i dont quite like Harry Potter, LOTR is better.... Harry Potter repeats itself every new book... Harry begins a new year in Hogwarts, Harry gets into trouble, Harry take Ron amd Hermiony to help him, Harry fights Voldemort, Harry wins, Harry's school club wins.... it's stupid, not worth reading...

148 posts	gah, you people haha i LOVE HP and LotR so much, going to NJ Sunday, 6 hour drive there, 1 hour drives to anywhere else in NJ so I'm gonna read HP OotP and The Hobbit couple dozen times for school... then come home and read the 3 other LotR books again... then finish reading Black Horses for the King.... gah, great summer, can't wait till August for TTT on DVD

4,030 posts	I think harry potter's awesome.. there was a story in the news today where walmart sold a copy by accident to some girl. they offered her $5000 to give it back and she didnt take it. thats stupid.. i like harry potter, but not that much. lol

4,030 posts	oh, and i dont think it was in quebec because the story was in the toronto star (one of the big toronto newspapers).. i didnt read the whole thing, just looked at it quickly.

148 posts	I KNOW WHAT BLOODY WALLMART MEANS! hahahaha i have one less than a mile away from my house, i was just asking if it actually was in a Wallmart the DVD thing was at Wegmans, an Upstate NY based grocery store

264 posts	Why are you guys all so grumpy about Mr. Potter? If you ignore the hype it's a good series of books that are all enjoyable reads. No more, no less.

942 posts	i like harry potter, i've read the 4 books and i'll buy the 5th when it comes out about the films, well they aren't that bad, but i still prefer the books

14,780 posts	forget lotr - Harry Potter all the way! I was disappointed with the films, although they were still good. Apprantly, in the 5th book, JK Rowling kills off one of the key characters! She even cried while writing the death scene. And NOBODY except her knows who it is. Not even her husband! So - who do you reckon gets killed off?
