| Now, I don't know if it's just a think thats going on in the Uk - (I don't know if primark exists elsewhere) but what is the new obsession with this shop?! I've never been there - have no idea what clothes they sell... but everyone seems to be going there... Anyone want to shine a little light onto this?? because I havn't a clue! |

| Ok, well based on what you've said Ally, I am actually going to go to the Leeds Primark some time in the near future and buy something if it looks nice, you've made me curious now. You should like do their advertising or something.
I can't say I've ever been to the Next Men's section lol, I hardly shop at Next. I'm quite a fan of the shops in and around the Corn Exchange in Leeds. Also, you can't go wrong with topshop. They do nice vest tops. | 14-01-2006 21:06 georgia_cy | 1,534 posts

| oh hell no!! just clothes wise.. I mean - I take consideration with my presentation - I don't look scruffy - I just like a pair of Burton or River Island Jeans with a nice belt, and maybe a long sleeved top from H&M and a jacket from Next.
* offtopic : I go there like once a year just so my Dad can see his old house.. quite sad really lol

| Right well I'm going to take a trip to Primark at some point - I am intrigued and want to know what its like. I've just realised that for an art student i dress rreeeealllly boringly!! | 14-01-2006 21:17 kinkybinky | 1,207 posts
| the big thing with primak is that i sells clothes real cheap, that's all. i mean the clothes there are okay, but they're nothing specail. mainly cause there made cheaply, which is why they sell them cheap, they use cheap materials and cheap labour. i've never bought anything from there and have only been once, i don't plan on going back. | 14-01-2006 21:18 Masterful_Ally | 15,628 posts
| Haha, yey, I made someone go check out Primark. I'm doing an advertising-related degree n all, lol. I have a gorgeous Primark dress on now, just stuck a belt over it and some drainpipes under it and you can barely tell its from there | 14-01-2006 21:26 slim_gary | 7,286 posts
| lol! I think you should tell the people degreeing you that you have done a fab job!!!
on the talk of fashion again - and my lack of it... i have a reasonably not bland side.. i mean i buy alot of things from camden market - so alot of slogan t shirts.. but then again... they are quite bland.. okay i just guess my dress sense is bland.. oh well. | 14-01-2006 21:48 kians_angel | 6,064 posts
| Cheap clothes are my saviour
I love primark. love love love it. Their clothes are gooood. I bought some black trousers and skirts and underwear and bags and everything from there! all good prices and really good value!
Matalan's pretty good too... im such a cheapskate.. i love cheap stuff!! | 14-01-2006 21:50 slim_gary | 7,286 posts
| now matalan - i can do matalan!!! i even have a card.. okay i dont.. but my mum does so i steal hers. | 14-01-2006 21:52 black_ivory | 7,155 posts
| Lol, me too Helen. I believe in getting mroe clothes, for less money. Cos a friend of mine made the point that girls generally shop more often than boys, but boys spend more. When I think of how much stuff I own, all from cheap little shops, its probably true, but works out as more value for money. | 14-01-2006 21:53 slim_gary | 7,286 posts
| i would rather buy one decent pair of underwear and maybe spend about £5 on it than buying a pack of 5 from asda for the same price... same with other things... | 14-01-2006 21:54 black_ivory | 7,155 posts
| But why? Think about it: The less stuff you own, the more often it gets worn. The more often it gets worn, the quicker it gets worn out. If you buy loads of cheap stuff, you wear stuff less, and don't need to buy stuff as often. Make sense? | 14-01-2006 21:57 slim_gary | 7,286 posts
| yer but no but yer but.. okay that was childish.. sorry..
I don't shop all that much - so i buy things to last.. and i buy nice things to last.. so i will spend about £40 on a pair of jeans to last me agggggges | 14-01-2006 22:02 black_ivory | 7,155 posts
| I just couldn't being myself to part with that much money for just one item. And plus, expense does not always equal quality. My friend had a tracksuit from Elle, wore it once, and the silver metal tag with 'Elle' engraved in it fell off. 90 quid that tracksuit cost, mine cost me 20 quid, and they're still completely in tact. | 14-01-2006 22:03 slim_gary | 7,286 posts
| hmmmz... see i can part with money like that knowing very well that i wont have to part with it again for another 6 months or so | 14-01-2006 22:06 black_ivory | 7,155 posts
| Nah, with 40 quid, I could get at least 4 items. Perhaps as many as 6, including acessories. | 14-01-2006 22:08 slim_gary | 7,286 posts
| thats where we are different... i dont need accessories! | 14-01-2006 22:09 black_ivory | 7,155 posts
| Lies, Gary. I saw that pink butterfly hairclip you had on last week...
In all seriousness though, it doesn't have to cost a lot to look good, you just need to know where to shop. | 14-01-2006 22:10 andro |
