Last week a delegation from New orleans visited Holland (The Netherlands) to see how the protection-system works over there.

Holland is a province that lies beneath sea-level. They have had problems like this for centuries. It's logic their means of protection are more advanced.

But at least NO & Louisiana are now trying to solve it, they could just as easily turned their heads once again.

Exactly.

Their means of dealing with it 250 years ago was better than New Orleans' protection before the storm...

Not just my opinion but fact if you investigate.

They've taking advantage of this by reclaiming land from the North Sea, which the Dutch have done since the 1700's.
The land that is created are called 'polders' and have many uses from residental to businesses to even agriculture, pretty remarkable considering the Netherlands is the densest nation in Europe.

Waht exactly do you mean by that?
(Cause "dense" can be traslated in two ways in dutch, so I didn't really get what you meant)

I think he means population density. People vs land area.

Richest? Well, in terms of GDP-PPP per capita, a well established way of measuring wealth against population, you're not actually.

Most powerful? The countries now gaining the most power are those with the valuable natural resources the world is running out of. They know we need to trade with them. Why do you think Russia, with its breaches of international law and human rights issues, is tolerated as a superpower? We need them. Why are we attacking oil yielding countries such as Iraq? we need them.

Most technologically asdavanced? Not even gonna bother with that one.

America is still the most powerful nation on Earth, both in terms of its military as well as in terms of its economy.

its economy

true, but the usa really depends on China, they get so much out of that country! Lets say China would quit handling with the USA, the USA would have a major problem, even though, because of the size of the USA ( alot of climates..), they produce alot of what they use themselfs.

i think china has the power to control the world if they wanted to. they have the supplies, the manpower, the technology...

the usa is not a bad country to live in at all. but richest, most technologically advanced, and most powerful? probably not.
