Just set up your own business like I did - it didn't cost me much to start it | 0 @ 09-06-2003 12:24 carole | 27,239 posts
| What do u do ?
(and i doubt my flat could host 32 students per hour) | 0 @ 09-06-2003 12:26 SPLIFFMAN | 2,702 posts
| lol it might be worth a try | 0 @ 09-06-2003 12:27 carole | 27,239 posts
| Well i'm sure everyone would be happy if we had English lessons at my place. I wonder why I can't do that. | 0 @ 09-06-2003 12:29 andro | 42,248 posts
| I write and arrange music - then I sell it off to the highest bidder
I can get anywhere between £500 and £5000 for a track
My initial investment was in a second hand MIDI keyboard for £20 and a m8 already in the industry let me borrow his recording studio for a weekend to put demo tapes together for the record companies
Most of my work is sold to local music groups though - nothing chart-topping
YET, at least | 0 @ 09-06-2003 12:35 carole | 27,239 posts
| Well this sounds like a lucrative business yeah. Don't u wish u had a workplace separated from your own place sometimes ? | 0 @ 09-06-2003 12:37 andro | 42,248 posts
| Hell no - I look at it as more of a hobby than work. Some nights Im lying in bed and inspiration suddenly hits. Here I can flick my PC on whenever I get the creative spark and act on it immediately which I couldn't do if I had to go to an office elsewhere | 0 @ 09-06-2003 12:42 carole | 27,239 posts
| lol, i get it. Sometimes i wake up at night and i need to go check some word in the dictionnary. Like compulsively. I am aware that this makes me a weirdo, but what can i say, teaching is a life-term commitment ! | 0 @ 09-06-2003 12:44 andro | 42,248 posts
| Doesn't make you weird at all
It just shows you have a passion for your work | 0 @ 09-06-2003 12:54 SPLIFFMAN | 2,702 posts
| nah ... it makes u a weirdo
hehe joking, i know what you mean, when you randomly get creative inspiration or a thought that you can't ignore | 0 @ 09-06-2003 13:17 carole | 27,239 posts
| Hey Dave, since u the Spliffman i can talk to u about that : have u noticed that when u are high on pot or weed u tend to think u have great inspiration, u think u're suddenly a genius, and if u can u write down your ideas; and then when u're down and sober u realize that what u wrote was really really dumb and meaningless.
I once wrote a huge poem dedicated to a bird, and while writing it i was thinkin 'man i'm talented', and when i wasn't high anymore me and my friends read it and we had such a laugh. It went like "on the roof of this head, like a cloud in an apple, a bird goes dee-dee", well full of nonsense... | 0 @ 09-06-2003 23:26 Slam | 47 posts

| lol carole i know exactly what u mean! | 0 @ 09-06-2003 23:29 SPLIFFMAN | 2,702 posts
| i start to psychoanalyse people, but i get so theoretical and complicated that its all just nonesense.
i also find trivial things interestin or beautiful ... and ofcourse there's the ability to burst out laughing over things that usually would barely deserve a laugh at all.
i do think creatively though, like change my attitude to things/people around me. | 0 @ 09-06-2003 23:32 Masterful_Ally | 15,627 posts
| Hehehehe, I did that once. I composed a GCSE music piece while high on skunk, and damn was that funny, lol. | 0 @ 09-06-2003 23:33 SPLIFFMAN | 2,702 posts
| like i might start thinking, and it seems like my thoughts are in poetry, and that they're fluent and that im lyrical or poetic.
i also appreciate music more, like a certain instrument will grab my attention in a song, and it will make my spine tingle and i'll fall in love with the sound. it makes it all a lot more vivid. ofcourse it applies to other senses, like taste, i always get the munchies for certain foods, like bacon sandwiches, lol
ofcourse most of my creativity is in my head, i usually go quiet after a while, i internalise things, get a bit more into my own internalised world | 0 @ 09-06-2003 23:36 Masterful_Ally | 15,627 posts
| Have you ever got so stoned you become convinced some random part of you is floating? On more than one occasion I have become convinced that my feet are floating and get terrified they will stick to the ceiling. *shakes head* maybe I am just strange. You definitely do get more imaginative and inspired though. even if you do produce piffle, heh.

| if i lean back the ceiling can spin and i feel like im paralysed, but ive gotta be very stoned to feel like that | 0 @ 10-06-2003 23:01 carole | 27,239 posts
| Oh yeah i know exactly what u mean Dave, but yeah u have to be really really high to feel that, and it's not so pleasant in fact. Sometimes it feels like u're made of concrete, and u just can't lift your arm or leg.
I also have the feeling that when u're stone u don't feel physical pain that much. And u don't feel the cold outside. | 0 @ 13-06-2003 06:17 kindapunksk8er | 59 posts
| you are under arrest spliffman for getting stoned
