Fun topic. I'll throw an opinion. I'm fairly sure that there's no definable way to prove whether God does or does not exist, so to each his own, believe or don't, doesn't make you more or less human. My view? I don't know if God exists and I'm okay with not knowing.

you cant prove or disprove the existence of god. at the end of the day.. you dont need to prove anything, people go through life and experience things which is enough proof of a higher being.

This reminds me of those "if god is all powerful, can he create a rock so heavy that he himself can't lift it?" paradox type of thingies.

i reckon god/ or some higher being exists.. and its got a crude sense of humour.. google worlds largest nut ..its called the cocodemer and its endemic to seychelles. its shaped like a womans hips bum and privates.. now am i to just believe this plant decided to evolve so its seed looks like pornographic sculptures..and just thought..what the heck why dont i make sure people take notice and make it grow to be the largest nut ever.

No it is not Sarah, that is a flawed logic it makes no sense in real world time, theoretically maybe but that's if you think as you say "everything is perfect" then murders and rapists and all the bad ills of the world are perfect too, which it is not.

I'm not religious, but I don't care if anyone believes in anything. If you can live happily being Christian, then be Christian. If you can live happily believing in some traditional Ethiopian religion that makes people stick forkis up their nostrils, then believe in that.

First let me start by saying I am crystal, i'm sorta new here.....i drown myself in my playlist usually because that helps soothe my soul and music is what makes the world go round in my opinion. So..sorry for taking so long to say hi. "HI"
Secondly let me start by explaining that i am not here to judge, try to persuade or prove anything to you. Just giving MY PERSONAL BELIEF and understandings.....when it comes to this topic.
I'm 40yrs. old, i have 3 kids in which 2 of them are already 18 and 20 and already made me a grandma 3 times. I have a son that is 12 going on 30 and i have sabtoged my own self my entire life. I've lived a life of drugs and juvey since i was 13. My brother the same only he was 8 when he started. I was the 'forgotten' kid and so i have spent many many years alone and lonely. Can't say that my entire life I have leaned on God/jesus to help me thru my harsh times cause honestly i didn't really know him. I don't really even know him today, i just pretend that i do most of the time, but i know him more today than yesterday that is for sure.
I have lost alot of MY LOVED ONES beginning in 2000. I had one in 2000..2001...2002...2003....2004....2006...2010 and im gonnna have another this year. My uncle linus/heartattack-2000. Grandpa in 2001....my daddy....2002 due to agent orange from the vietnam way back from 1967...(oh how i hated god that year) in 2003, my other grandpa. In 2004 my aunt and uncle Debbie and Glenn Car were murdered by James T Moran here in Washington....drugs and lack of belief in God are to blam. In 2006 my aunt carol(the wife to the uncle who died in 2000. In 2010 I lost my dads brother due to drugs and diabetes. This year I'm losing my dads mother to cancer as well. I forgot to mention that one month after my dad died I was living with the scare of my mommie dying too. Breast cancer. She is in remission but has had to have both breasts removed, at two different times....ANDDDDDDDDD 2 yrs. ago she had a small brain tumor that was removed in time......talk about scare. I call them mommy and daddy because my entire life they have been my foundation and we used to be so close. My mom hates me now. Anyways, I didn't tell any of this for pitty, I just wanted to give the example of reasons on why I hated and turned away from God. How could he? If God was so....then why'd he take my life away. Whyd he take my moms soul away. She's been in her room, only coming out to eat, do dishes occasionally or visit IF someone stips by. It's been 10 yrs. I live in the living room....on here.....listening to music and that's about it. I've had alot of time to think think think and in my most troubled times, in my deepest darkest places, God has been there for me. Times of wishing I were dead or praying that I would die if only my mom could have one more day with my dad. Or my drugs or loneliness or whatever it was and is.....i feel him. IF you give it half a second, try it sometime. You don't have to go to church, I don't. I cuss like a trucker, it's not pretty, believe me. I am completely opposite from a 'church-goer" as some would call people....but I do talk to God/jesus just about every day. I argue with him, i tell him i love him, i cry to him, i'm mad at him....I just gradually built my own way. Catholic./christians./jews/mormons, in my opinion they are all just made up words....religion is what you feel in your heart and the stipulations and beliefs you may have in your religion ARE CORRECT AND TRUE AND YOURS. Your own personal relationship is the right way.
Take a second and think about things that are invented.....the computer your staring at......the tv you may watch everyday or phone you chat on. Think about the cars we drive...electicity, fridges, stoves, electricity...money....ALL OF IT IS MAN MADE. We all make it. Now, pinch yourself. (not to hard cause it might hurt a bit) Now......try to compare how the feeling you just felt and a car is made? You explain that to me and I'm a believer in your belief.
Regardless...your feelings are valid. Are respected. Hope you feel the same.
Trying out god/jesus is something you can look at as if .....trying a new soda or candybar or something......doesn't hurt to try.
One last thing, IF you ever get to that point, a relationship with him.....remember that if you always have faith...real-undoubted faith- you'll see him come thru for you.

gothic aetheist you are saying that christians religious views and aspects are flawed where if you tear your arguements appart which is easy to do they are just opinion if we are going that way and we believe in evolution you are a racist because it states that a white mans brain is superior to others but studies have proven that wrong now the question i ask you is do you believe that you have free will? ..... the reason i ask this question is to disprove that there isnt a creator because scientific study has proven that if macro evolution so evolution is true then free will does not exist and everything done by all creatures on earth is predetermined and thinking is useless because your mind is already made up to better the evolution of the species

also you are saying that nothing is perfect well you must have very high standards for perfect because the word perfect is relevant to the person using it so you can say that being an atheist is perfect but to me it is far from it as it really brings no comfort at al so you should look at your arguments and find scientific eidence for them

Even Einstein makes suggestions of a creator and sustainer in one of his papers (cant remember which one ) but the wording of it was, "if the mass of any subatomic particle (protoms, neutrons,electrons and quarks)was to shift by as little as 2 percent the universe would cease to function, he then goes on to say that mot only was the universe created but it must be constantly sustained in order tomfujction.)

creatures. Chapter 3 tells how perfection was lost also how perfection will be retained and when. But you must believe
what you read.. Book of Revelation tells you whats going to happen to all that's not perfect and refuse to
submit to God's sovereignty. peruse through the Bible meditate on it and see what I mean ,what more proof
do you need???????
