I think you'll find that no one did respond using drugs as an argument since your last post, unless you completely misinterpreted vandy's. need their god so they feel better about the world... Alcohol and drugs aren't used for any of that... Though if you really think that people don't use drugs and alcohol to feel better about events and themselves, you calling me and Daniel ignorant is one of the most hypocritical opinions I've ever read.

Maybe it was the other thread but I know Daniel was trying to imply I use drugs as a crutch and I am weak for that or something.. Lol, how extremely stupid. And you were saying something to the effect that I am an addict of some sort... WTF? I almost thought you were joking till I remembered who was posting it.

9,642 posts	You go on and do what you want, curt. i personally think you're way too smart to waste your life having "fun" with drugs. you never know what's in that $h[t, what it could be cut with, and it can kill you. pot included. at least what you claim is my "crutch" isn't damaging.

Even if it were laced, first of all I'd probably be able to tell, and second of all it wouldn't be enough to kill me. Maybe 1 in a million chance. Religion as a broad term is extremely dangerous, as can be your God. Your God hinders a lot of people from striving to be strong individuals and doing things on their own. When I say crutch, I am referring to people using that given thing (In this case, God) as something to lean on. For example, religious folk can lean on their God whenever hardships occur because "God will help them through tough times!"... When in reality, it's just a false hope. You can argue your God doesn't damage you personally, but I know my drugs don't damage me either.

13,215 posts	oh fine say as you wish. it's all like saying that people cut themselves just because it's fun, or people don't eat, or throw up what they eat just because it sounds like a good idea (which all of those obviously aren't good ideas or fun). if drugs, alcohol and any other smokeable substances were to vanish of the face of the planet, sure there'd be some in withdrawal, but inevitably, most people would be better off. and religion only hinders one's growth when lust and the desires of the world are able to tempt the person enough to distract them from keeping their focus on God above. the weakness argument is silly. i could just as easily say that nonbelievers are weak because they are too afraid to let go of what they want and trust to put their faith in God, trusting that He knows what is best for them. i could also say they are selfish because they refuse to give up what they want, and what works or is comfortable for them, because that would mean putting God first and not themselves. but if I went around saying that, would that help interest people in what I believe? no, it would tick people off and turn them away. so when trying to convince people to see your point of view, insulting them is probably the least effective. and personally, i would rather be seen or considered as "weak" because i choose to believe and put my faith in God, than to be "strong" and put my faith in nothing but myself. strong and weak are relative terms in this case and only truly matter to those who choose to let them matter.

Take homosexuality, gender roles, sexuality as a whole, and racial disputes that are all bound in religion (both text and preached) for example.

8 posts	guys if god does not exist then who build the earh who made the moon how do we move around the sun how the plant come out how do we have babies how there is gravity how ... etc but the most important if god does not exist Y R we exist god like gravity its a Theory but in every way its true i`m Muslim & there is a true story in Islam says that there was a Sheikh in a village full of people who believe in nature .. so some one in the village came up with an idea that they do a debate betwen the head of the village and the Sheikh and they all agreed .. so when the time came the sheikh was late and they all asked him Y ? he said i saw the tree flying > so every body said that he was lying ... but how you r saying that ha is lying if you r saying the same thing .. i mean really if you believe that the nature did every thing than why you dont believe me when i say that the tree was crying the other day > and if god does not exist just tell me 10 reasons ??

Im not a Believer myself, i am more of a "life" fan. i Think that Life it self in all it's forms is so magnificent and complex that there is reason for me to believe in anything but us living and Breathing here on "Mother Earth". (not sure if that makes me a Satanist) I Believe that for mankind to Evolve and Grow we need to Create a greeter understanding of ourselves. this is Done by communicating, exploring other Humans and turning the you into the self. religion is IMO preventing this from happening. in religion everything is explained and therefore there is no longer a reason to Communicate and Search for your own answers. Religion is Holding you at bay, hindering from ever going out onto Deeper and explore the depths of yourselves. if there is a God would he not wish for us to grow into our mortal bodies? if there is a God would he not wish for us to find our own answers Would he have us slaves to his ways ? never to let us even try to Find our own answers. Never to explore the life that he supposedly has given us, to try to find new ways of understanding life. getting our own understanding of life and to Live life in all its beauty!!! [offtopic]
