Kelly Clarkson = Avril Lavigne wannabe?

That's what my friend keep telling me. Personally I think Kelly's pretty good. I never really liked Avril Lavigne, some of her songs are good, but mostly she just annoys me.

Kelly Clarkson is cool, though. I think she's got a style of her own, she's angry and stuff, I like that. Avril is trying to become the new Alanis Morisette.

...I really don't think Avril Lavigne and Kelly Clarkson are anything alike....I don't really like either one of their music (it's just not the type of stuff I listen to), but as far as talent and vocal ability goes, I think Kelly's definately got Avril beat....

I agree... Kelly's much more talented than Avril. It's my friends who think Kelly's trying to copy Avril's style.

kelly and avril aren't the same..they're both good, even very good, and i don't think kelly is trying to be anything like avril..
BTW, avril wrote kelly's song 'breakaway'... maybe that's why you may think that they're somwhat alike..(they're not)

How did Kelly Clarckson, Avril Lavigne and Alanis Morrissete wind up together? The only thing is that in "Since U Been Gone" Kelly's voice sounds like Avril's, that's it.

Sure, I can compare Avril and Alanis but to Kelly Clarkson?

Sure Kelly's got a better voice than those two, but in terms of song quality, Avril and Alanis both beat her.

All have got different styles.

Nah, I don't think so. Although I see the similarities, but not a wannabe or anything.

i think kelly clarkson does it better, than avril

at least kelly can sing, and make decent music.

plus her songs all sound natural, including the instruments.

since u been gone, sounds natural.

Nobody can be Alanis, obviously. Kelly is sort of becoming an Avril wannabe, with the "screw boys, I hate you" type songs. Ugh. I hate Kelly and Avril equally.

Well, Avril hit it big just a few months before Kelly, so I will have to disagree. Kelly's new album sounds nothing like Avril.

almost every female singer sings those type of things

But when its all they sing, it gets pretty irritating. Especially Avril- almost every single one of her songs is like that.

I don't know but i kinda like kelly more. I mean her voice is wayyyyy better than avril's. I don't think she's immitating avril at all. she's got her own style. and besides she doesn't need to be like avril.

I'm not a fan of either, so I can say that I honestly dont think she is. I mean Avrils a weirdo, and I admit I liked her first album, and Kelly Clarkson just won some stupid reality show and is therefore what the media makes of her. She has no control whatsoever.

I thought that Avril Lavigne wrote the song "Since you've been gone". Thats why it sounds like her, I guess.
