What does you real name (so, not you nickname) means, or is there a story behind it, I mean a special reason why your parents named you that way?

My real name is Petra, which means 'rock' and is the feminin of Peter. I'm named after my great-grandmother, she was Dutch and my mom liked her very much, but I never knew her.

so, anyone else?

i plan on naming my daughters Summer and Raine.
those are the prettiest names, i swear.

but originally, my name was supposed to be spelled Lindsay...for some reason, my mom decided last minute to switch it to Lindsey. which i'm glad she did.

when i see Lindsay, i want to pronounce it "lind-zay"

and then there's people who spell it ashleigh.

well I guess it doesn't mean anything, my parents just liked the name...

oh wait I'll take that back, I guess it does mean something... hmm... well like in sentence "Hän meni Lontooseen, JONNE hän kuuluu" means "He/she went to London, WHERE he/she belongs to."

so it might mean where. But another where word than Where in "Where are you." that'd be "Missä sinä olet".

that all reminds me- there's also a word "jonnekin". It can mean either
a) Jonne as well (When you should pronounce it yonnehkin)

or b) To somewhere/some place (When you should pronounce it like yonne(k)kkin.)

I don't know if my name has any other meanings.

Josh was the name of my grandfather (I think).

In Hebrew its translated as Yeshua, which means Jesus. Ironic eh?

i have a type of clothes, port, and a club named after me! lol

my best friend, chinah, is lucky! she has a wall and a country named after her (minus the H)

i think when she has a child, the baby needs to get a tattoo that says "made in chinah" (lol sorry im really delirious)

my name's Cranberry but evryone calls me Cranny. i was named after my aunt who died a week before i was born. thats why i'm the only one in my family with a wierd name. my mom was gonna name me Andrea.

My name is Anna, because my dad's mother (who died long before I as born) was called Annie. The sweetest thing is, at a family funeral about a year and a half ago, relatives who I didn't even know were coming up to me and saying "you look the double of Annie". Then they'd find out I am her granddaughter and my name is Anna and yeah. It was nice.

My real name is Kathryn. It means Pure and I was named after my mothers best friend that died days before I was born. But everyone calls me by my middle name which is Kaitlyn.. which also means pure....

My name is Jessica! It's really common so it makes me mad but it's all good. Anyways my name is the female version of Jesse. In hebrew my name means "wealthy"!

I wasn't born after anyone.........well sort of my older sister her middle name is Jessica and she named me. There is a longer story but I'm too lazy to tell it right now
