Who Is Your Favourite Singer/Songwriter

This question has probably been posted before, but since I'm new here, I'll post it again. My favourite part of music has always been the lyrics, so I am a great admirer of the singer/songwriter. There are many who I think are phenominal, but for the sake of my own post, I'll have to say my favourite is Elvis Costello.
The range and complexity of his music run the spectrum from Country to New Wave and everything in between and I've always found the brutal honesty of his words to capture so much of how I veiw the world. His turn of phrase is also very unique and I love some of the odd choices he has used, placing a word or phrse into a tune that most would think is unsingable and making it work. Combine that with his prolific catalog and the fact that his songs continue to influence other bands, I think he's one of the best singer/songwriter's of the last 20 years.
So who is your favourite singer/songwriter and why. Just curious.

hehe, relating to the other post you've helped me with, i think Raine Maida's voice is the best and the songs he writes are meaningful.... can I get an A-Men to that from ILuvRaine?

David Draiman of Disturbed. God, his voice is so good. He can sing so melodically, and then make those cool grunting noises. I love how he sings.
