Corset Piercing

| There's a piercing that young girls are taking part of now, called corset piercing. I know it's not a new thing, but now it's actually a trend which is something more than just a few people here and there doing it. Girls are actually getting this done for their PROMS, etc.
It's piercings up the back or side in two rows where hooks or eyelets are put in so that they can be laced up like a woman's corset with ribbon. Here's a link of a bit of info and pictures of this latest trend:
Corset Piercing
This looks EXTREMELY painful. If you're a thin person, how is there even enough fat or skin to pierce? Not to mention the ribbon stuff being tied against your back or side. Yeow.
So I'm just wondering if you've seen this or gotten this done or if you haven't - what you think about it. It will be interesting for me to hear what you think. Some guys I've talked to have said it was hot to them, and some thought it was freaky. Maybe I've been living under a rock, but it just kind of surprised and shocked me; I've never seen anything like this, and it's now become an actual trend among young girls. |

| Yes. but it does basically the same thing, right? Also, it injures you the same way as one does. Yuck....I thought we got rid of those horrid things in the 1920's, haha. | 14-05-2005 17:20 XxNirvanaxX | 13,961 posts
| Well, to me, from what it looks like, it doesn't have the same purpose as a corset. It's not holding anything in, it's for decorative purposes. The ribbon isn't holding you in, it's just laced on a flat surface and it's called a corset piercing because of the design of the laces similar to a corset - correct me if I am wrong. | 14-05-2005 17:20 jamesey | 11,431 posts

I don't think that it looks especially good/bad/disgusting, more just bizarre and oh so very painful.

| And I don't think pierced outer skin compares to being internally crushed or having a broken rib. Painful all the same though. -shudders- | 14-05-2005 17:22 claristasia | 1,243 posts

| I was looking into getting a really unusual piercing a few months ago and came across this corset piercing you're speaking of. At first, I thought it looked disgusting, but then I came round to the idea that it actually looked really pretty, and I really wanted it done.
I found out though, that the body rejects those piercings after a while (often only after a few weeks) so that's why they're temporary.
It's still something I would consider, but not at the moment, maybe over the summer I'll look into it. | 14-05-2005 19:42 singingsweetie | 8,389 posts

| -pets Jay the Viking- I agree with everything you said, but they aren't bringing back the corset, it's a piercing designed to look like a corset.
Correction my dear child. The corset is now in fashion. and will be for the next year or so thanks to Kylie Minogue and such.
there's a whole new range coming out in the clothing shops in the next yet. | 14-05-2005 19:59 nefariouslady_t | 11,509 posts
| I would never get that done, I don't think it looks gross just really painful. If they just last a few weeks you wont be sleeping on your back till those few weeks are over I'm sure. The pic with the 2 ppl together is cool looking though. | 14-05-2005 20:00 norreriis |

| Sometimes when the body sense a piercing as a foreign object as the skin grows it pushes the piercing out wards. | 14-05-2005 20:12 XxNirvanaxX | 13,961 posts
