| * offtopic : oh ok, i can also understand though how you'd get tired of reading things about America. Especially if they're bad things and stuff.

| I personally think he cheated his way into the office, with his brother being govenor of florida and all, and his second cousin managing the computers...
did you know, I was flying in to the lovely manhattan on 9/11...
I was just minding my own buisness, planning to hail my cab, to go to the plaza..get some sleep have lunch...when security decided to stop me and open up all my bags?
not only me, but every other ethnic group there minus the caucasian race, yeah, it was lovely.
my flight got grounded, when I wanted to fly back to boston, but the only people allowed to leave the country were the bin laden family?
when even ex president bush had his flight grounded? how can that be?
I think this government is crap, have you seen the gas prices??
oh my god. they are ridiculous, and last week , he says the baby boomers will get thier social security but not the "Granchlidren" generation...where does that leave me...and If I ever decide to have a family some day.
people say get out there and vote but I dont think that makes a difference if you are being cheated out of your personal right, I'm not 18 yet, but my family did vote, they took days off work, and for what?
for a man who spends 48% of his time vacationing in Texas.
Instead of looking at the issuses. I want to make a difference here someday.
as a citizen, I feel that it is our right to know where our money is going to be spend, and how, and why...not just the reason" we think they might have weapons of mass destruction, lets destroy peoples lives.. and homes, and lets kill innocent children".
the peopel should be invovled more. | 06-05-2005 03:14 DolphinStarr | 2,356 posts
| America is powerful and uses its power so like it or not people are going to comment. Personally i disagree with a lot of Bush's policy, and i'm just thankful i don't live there, let alone in a red state. | 06-05-2005 03:15 Playmate01 |

| have you seen the gas prices??
Maya, lets not get into a gas price debate here, especially with me. and meh, at this point the whole Iraq thing is over done. Afganistan is doing ok as there own country, but as far as like Torabora, i still think we needs troops there. but Iraq, start training some soliders, let them buy weapons from the US and then start taking troops out. i still support are efforts there but its over done now.
but how i feel about the US. i feel the US has its flaws but is still the best country in the world to live in. Bush has his downsides, like abortions and stem cell research but i will defend him hardcore on many issues, as many of you saw back around election time. the US overall on the homeland is running quite well, so i think, given what happened 3 and a half years ago. sure, we can do more to make it all run smoother, but so can every country. are representation as the people is pretty slack ass but i mean, at this point there isnt a whole lot we can do.
i could go on for a long time, but i think you get my overall point. im done now. thank you. | 06-05-2005 03:29 Playmate01 |

| Ok my opinion of Americans:
Tourists: Most are blissfully ingorant of the country they're visiting and are big targets to get ripped off because of their ignorance esp. in a non-English speaking, non-European country.
People: Well, here you get a blend. You got some of the greatest genuises while as well in the same country got the most ignorant people in the world.
Government: Always has been corrupt since Kennedy died. (yes, that includes Ford and Clinton)
Culture: Beyond belief in it's genius and also it's plain outright stupidness.
News: TV = total propaganda (both right wing and left wing)
Newspapers and independent news from the US = the best news sources in the world.
Oh yeah, remember these two facts:
USA: 4% of the population, 25% of the emissions. (Not part of Kyoto Protocol as well)
If everyone in the world lived like Americans (in terms of resources used), it would need THREE Earths to sustain that level of consumption.
